1FINAL REFLECTION
The entire course was an enriching journey of learning for me as I had been able to
gain knowledge related to varied learning areas that I had assimilated and would be useful in
practice. Nursing is a broad subject and its intricate elements are critical in nature which
requires more in-depth knowledge in gaining expertise. The final reflection will highlight the
learning progress that I have achieved throughout the course. The scope of Nursing practice
was the first and initial learning that allowed me in gaining the essential knowledge related to
the professional and it had helped in understanding the foundation of Nursing practice. The
nurses have a wide range of roles in the healthcare sector (Glauberman et al., 2020). I become
acquainted with the most significant role that is teaching. The learning gave an invaluable
understanding of the importance of teaching in nursing professional and ways of practising
them.
I gained an excerpt in health literacy that allowed me in assessing the significance of
knowledge related to a health matter. This knowledge helps in the improvement of the ability
of the patient and in the decision-making process. It is one of the essential capabilities of a
nurse and various factors depend on the decision, which makes it critical in nature (Friesen-
Storms et al., 2018). From the community education and health promotion, I gained an idea
of the role of a nurse in the community and the role and responsibilities in conducting an
assessment to promote health and wellbeing. The burden of disease is increasing this; the
learning from Health Promotion would be useful in mitigating the issues and improving the
health status of the society. As I moved through the course, I understood that care is an
explicit provision that is required for health, wellbeing, welfare, protection and maintenance
of an individual and therefore, it involves various standards, policies, regulation and code of
practice to ensure that it is being conducted in a proper and appropriate manner. There are
specific nursing skills that are important in offering high-quality care such as cultural
competence and humility. As a nurse, I am expected to deal with a wide range of people

belong to various cultural backgrounds and thus, offering them care with demonstrating
cultural competency is stated to be futile. The needs and demand of patients need to be
understood and personalised care using a person-centred approach need to be adopted that
involves humiliation in the care process (Paciello et al., 2016). This allowed me to precise
delivery care to the patient with the opportunity of enhancing the time of the recovery
process. One of the aspects that need to be discussed in this case is the Nursing Code of
Ethics. I gained a vivid understanding of the ethical practices that need to be adopted in order
to resolve ethical dilemmas. The provision of advocacy letter allowed the healthcare
professionals to have a role in advocating changes in the healthcare sector to the government
and recommending areas of improvement. My skills and knowledge have greatly influenced
by this course.
