Why are you applying for your chosen course?
There are a number of opportunities present in the market of accounting and finance.
There are a number of foreign direct investments made which are generating high returns for
the organisations. As the economies are globalising it have become important to understand
different countries as well as their markets.
Why does this subject interest you? Include evidence that you understand what’s
required to study the course?
A course in accounting and finance will also help in interacting with various students of
same field who belong to different backgrounds and one can learn how their economies are
effecting global market. The subject interests me because a simple step or decision taken in
accounts or finance of an organisation can bring profits or losses for the organisation. There are
a number of subjects in this field such as tax, advance accounting, financial accounting and
costing which are gaining my attention.
Why do you think you’re suitable for the course(s)? Do you have any particular skills and
experience that will help you to succeed
on the course?
There are also a number of advanced topics such as asset management and portfolio
management which will be beneficial for me in future. My analytical skills are good which
makes me to opt for this course. Working effectively in my fathers business have helped me to
gain insights about finance and accounting. Small financing decisions can result to have huge
impacts on businesses. Presence of mind and strong background in economics are also a
positive factor which encourages me to join this field.
Do your current or previous studies relate to the course(s) that you have chosen? If so,
how?
Yes, I have successfully completed a degree in HND/HNC in business management.
This degree have certainly provided me a base to study accounting and financing. It is a great
way to move forward and work in the same field gaining expertise
Have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest in the
course(s)?

In order to pursue my career in finance and accounts I took efforts during my free time
to learn about stock market and ways in which it works. There are a number of factors related
to stock market and money market which I learned through a basic online course on online
trading. I also attended a summer trading school which will be beneficial for me as I carry on
with this course in future.

Along with all these activities I also took part in a number of seminars and inter school
competitions. I am always encourages to do and learn new things. I like working in groups and
managing a group. In our high school we had to construct an entrepreneurship based upon new
innovation which was a theoretical project. We were divided into groups of 8 each. I took the
responsibility of managing the group and acted as a democratic leader to successfully complete
the project.

I personally worked upon financials of that project too as I had some experience in
business with my family. All these small efforts and interests are motivating me to pursue my
career in the field of accounts and finance.

I am interested in reading. I have a subscription of Economist and also an avid reader of
financial times these are some hobbies of mine which are enabling me to develop more interest
towards this subject. I have actively taken participation in debate competitions at school level.
With this quality I also though of pursuing a career in law but found out later that finance have
always had my attention. There are a number of other hobbies I have other than work. I like
adventure sports, trekking with my friends and I have been a part of rugby team in my school
too.

Although I do not have any such experience in the field of finance which can be
validated but I voluntarily worked for my father as well as some of is friends. I was asked to
manage their accounts and cash counter. After school hours managing their accounts and
balances helped me to earn some extra pocket money. This also encouraged me to save some
amount and invest in stock market. I used my savings from these part time jobs of accounting
to invest in share market. I have been a full time student and just after completion of my high
school I am opting for a course in UK for BA in finance and accounts. However as mentioned
earlier I have worked part time. These jobs were not related to finance but it had a lot to do
with accounts. Accounting is one of my strongest subject. I have also went for some inter
school competition representing my school. I have always been keen towards accounts since
m,y father taught me how to make entries in books of accounts and ways in which profit and
loss is calculated. Financial statements have always had my keen interest.

I believe that life in university will come along bringing a number of changes in my life.
It will not only help me grow academically but also it will help me to develop in a social and
interpersonal level. It is necessary for me to get out of my personal space and look at the world
ans face competition.
If you know what you’d like to achieve after completing the course, explain how you want
to use the knowledge and experience
that you gain. How does the course relate to what you want to do in the future?
The experience which I gain in university will help me to face competition and also prepare me
for corporate world. I plan to work in stock market. I have plans to set up myself as a
successful Personal Financial Advisor. I want to work as a financial manager but on an
individual basis. For this I need to have proper knowledge of stock market and finance. It only
requires a graduate degree in in fields of finance and account. It is necessary to provide such
suggestions and advice to the clients. People need to make sure that their funds are managed

well and they are investing in places in places which bring them returns. In a way pursuing this
career will allow me to help people to manage their funds. I can effectively make people save
their money and invest it in better places. This will also provide me satisfaction as I am serving
people.
