PERSONAL STATEMENT
Why are you applying for your chosen course(s)?
I have completed HNC / HND and my course during it, was Diploma in Business
management and now I wanted to apply for BA Accounting and Finance. I am applying for this
course because I have interest in accounting and finance and if it will be selected by me then I
will be able to learn about different types of techniques that could be applied by businesses. I
have applied for this course as it will help me to develop understanding about costing, economies
for accounting and finance, financial accounting principles, quantitative analysis of finance etc.
Why does this subject interest you? Include evidence that you understand what’s required to
study the course, e.g. if applying for psychology courses, show that you know how
scientific the subject is.
The subject accounting and finance interest me because it will provide me opportunity to
learn different types of new techniques and tools that are required by business entities.
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, conventions and principles is required to study this
course. Apart from this, as I have completed Diploma in Business Management so I am having
skills such as management, critical analysis and knowledge of the way in which a business could
be managed. I am also having brief knowledge about different types of accounting techniques
that will be useful while studying this course. This course will also help me to get aware of
digital and management accounting, financial reporting, taxation for individuals and businesses,
auditing, corporate and behavioural finance etc.
Why do you think you’re suitable for the course(s)? Do you have any particular skills and
experience that will help you to succeed on the course(s)?
I am very attentive and a good listener and if I will be provided the opportunity to study
in the university then I will be able to use my qualities to complete the course properly. It also
shows that I am suitable for the course as I have having brief knowledge of accounting and
finance related concepts. My skills will be beneficial for me to get succeed in the course as I
always try to make efforts to score good marks in examination.

Do your current or previous studies relate to the course(s) that you have chosen? If so, how?
My current studies are about business management it is slightly related to the course
which is selected by me because a business manager will be required to be aware of all the
accounting and finance related aspects so that the business expectations could be met.
Have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest in the course(s)?
During the completion of Diploma I took part in the inter college event. It was organised
in my college and I was working as the treasurer in the whole event. I was responsible for
keeping track record of all the transactions, inflows and outflows of funds. Since then, my
interest in finance and accounting was increased and the experience of working as treasurer in
the event will be beneficial for me to complete the course properly.

I have various types of skills which will help me during the completion of the course if I
will get the opportunity to study BA Accounting and Finance within the university. Some of
them are attentiveness, effective listening, experience of working as treasure in inter college
event etc. I am also having different types of attributes that will also be beneficial for me to
complete the course properly. Some of them are disciplines, responsible, take interest in extra
curricular activities, hard working, knowledgeable, relationship building and sense of respect.
The main skills that are required for course of BA Accounting and Finance are dedication,
attentiveness, critical thinking etc. I am having all these qualities and it will be beneficial for me
to work effectively on the course work.
Also think about any other achievements you’re proud of, positions of responsibility that you
hold or have held both in and out of school, and attributes that make you interesting,
special or unique.
During one of the events that were attended by me during the diploma I was working as
the treasurer and I was mainly responsible to allocate funds to all the individuals according to the
requirements of the activities and keep track records of finance. I performed my job as treasurer
properly and it built my interest in accounting and finance field and inspired me to pursue the
course of BA Accounting and Finance.

My hobby is to surf internet and learn about new aspects so that I can gain knowledge of
different types of areas and become more knowledgeable. The course require understanding of
accounting and finance and I am having brief knowledge about about them. Apart from this, my
hobby of internet surfing will help me to develop more understanding about key elements of
course. I am also interested in taking part in social activities that helps me to establish goods
relationships with others. If I will be studying in the college in future then I will make sure that I
maintain discipline as well as try to fulfil all the expectations of the college authorities.

During the completion of my Diploma I work voluntarily in different types of events that
were held in the university campus. In some of the events I acted as the treasurer and in some of
them I worked as a manager. While taking part in these events I tried to make sure that I perform
all the work properly which is assigned to me. As a volunteer I always made sure that I help
others with their work so that we can complete the tasks collaboratively.

I completed the diploma in part time education and after that I am willing to pursue the
course of BA Accounting and Finance in the university. I m a team leader, I make probiotics
drinks, and for my study ,I did HNC/HND Business Management 2 years,and now I want to
continue to BA accounting finance.

I want to study in UK because I want to grow my career and your university is the best

I have completed my diploma and further education in English so UK will be the best country
where I can continue my education.
If you know what you’d like to achieve after completing the course, explain how you want to use
the knowledge and experience that you gain. How does the course relate to what you want
to do in the future?
If I will be studying BA Accounting and Finance in the college then I wish to work as a
senior financial analyst in an organisation and the knowledge and experience which will be
gained by me during the completion of the course will be used by me to work effectively in the
enterprise. As I want to become senior financial analyst in future so the course of BA
Accounting and Finance will be beneficial for me to pursue my career objective in future. It will
also help me to increase the possibility of getting the desired post in a large organisation in
upcoming years after completion of the course.
