a. Introduction:
The aim of this paper is to discuss the internship experience done in the reputed
company of Arab Emirates namely Adeem General Trading. The company mainly is a
supplier of low current system, home automation, lighting control, sensors, solar solutions,
Fire alarm systems, CCTV and security systems, LED lamp fitting, hotel hospitality and
BMS system.
The company has strategized to be specialised in the building management systems
that includes the system designs and engineering, multimedia , audio visual systems,
innovative renewable energy products, technologies and solutions solution provider, lighting
control designing and engineering, innovative and decorative light fittings and the DMX
control. The company also provides the maintenance service after sale. Adeem General
trading has expansion different parts of the world other than the home country of UAE. The
markets like Germany, US, UK, France and Czech Republic are also intervened by this
company.
b. Work Performed:
I have done my major in the subject of finance therefore, my position in the company
is a junior administrative officer in the finance department. In this company I serve as the
intern to administrative officer and serve all the responsibilities of the assistant to the
administrative officer of finance. I assemble materials for financial analysis and make reports,
prepare budget and financial control, ad assemble all the financial as well as statistical data to
summarise informationin the report or graphic form. I help my boss the prepare scope for
financial, procedural, statistical and organizational studies. I also manage office supplies
stock and placing orders. I also administer company database and organise filing system for
the important and confidential company document.

c. Internship Goals:
Internship has given me scopes for improvement. The goals of my internship include
hands on experience at the bustling start up or Major Corporation. The goals of my
internship are gaining professional connection, developing skills to add in the resume,
learning what I do not like, gaining more confidence in the professional setting and learning
about my own leadership style. My internship in Adeem genera trading has given me
opportunity to gain more professional connections. This is due to the fact that the people
whom I meet in these goals are truly very important and can help me to become my suture
references. Through them I will be able to get the future place or job offers. By the means of
internship I wanted to develop such skills which I do not possess in my career or have learnt
about them before but want to add them to my resume. In this case I had aimed to develop my
analysis skills and the soft skills to increase the capabilities of problem solving. I have learnt
the communication abilities, social skills and motivating skills. Through these goals I have
gained more confidence to solve the problem but what I have not gained is the identification
of my own working style. This is due to fact that while working in the company as the intern,
my seniors used to create a framework based on which I had to work accordingly.
d. Educational Value:
As mentioned before, I have completed my major in finance, through internship I
have gained an additional layer of educational value upon my academic courses. Through the
course of finance 201, I only had theoretical knowledge about the operation of the business
organizations in the aspect of finance. However through this entry of internship I have gained
in depth knowledge about the real world financial operations of the business organizations.
The theoretical practice that I have learnt in the university, transformed into the practical

practice. This is how my academic knowledge got nourishment through real world examples
and experiences.
e. Relationship to Academic Experience:
In the university I have learnt about the questions of the clients or the other employees
who are dependent upon the finance department of the organisation. In working in Adeem, I
have seen the scenario created in reality. In the company where I was doing my internship,
my supervisor name was Riza and he is a senior administrative officer of Finance. Now some
of the employees were facing payment issues for few months therefore, came to ask for
solving this question, they were asking different types of question which I was not being able
to answer properly. In this case, my supervisor under whom I was working helped me to
point out the factors which could find proper solution to this problems and convince the
employee properly.
f. Professional development:
In working as the intern of junior administrative officer of finance, I have faced
different types of problems but solved most of them correctly so that my organisation does
not face any type of issue for me or my actions. The most important aspects which created
problems in my internship career were the inability to communicate properly with the
employees working at the ground level and the competing tasks within the deadline. I did not
have proper knowledge of the office procedures that made me unable to work properly. I do
not possess capability of verbal and nonverbal skills which had left me to face challenge on
the internship. I could not convince the employees for conflict mitigation not could provide
them proper answer which may solve the problems.

g. Conclusion:
Therefore it can be concluded that despite the fact I have in depth knowledge about
the financial operations of the organisation but lack in have knowledge of working in any
company in real world scenario. Through the internship process I have learnt to set goals and
achieve them properly. The company I was working specialises building management
systems and I was responsible to handle the finance. I only had theoretical knowledge about
the operation of the business organizations in the aspect of finance that I had learnt in the
university but in working in Adeem General Trading, I have seen the real scenario created in
the organization. Based in these I have learnt to face the real world problems and solved them
with available resources.
