Project Title: Proposing cage fish farming on the canal built for Kafue River.
Executive Summary:
This report states the proposal to implement cage fish farming on the canal that is to be
built from the Kafue River. This report explains the context of proposing the fish farming and
provide project justification for proposing the project. There is also a target group that is
explained in the project that states the target group and will also state how the target group will
be benefitted. There is project implementation related to the project proposal and the budget
related with the project. The monitoring as well as evaluation plan is also explained in this report
along with the management as well as personnel associated with this project. Employee Work
breakdown structure is also explained in the project along with the project time frame and the
risks assessment that is to be carried out in the project.
Context:
The case study that is considered for this project report is Kafue National Park located in
Southern End of Zambia. The name of this National Park came from the Kafue River which is
flowing through the national park. Kaindu farmers wants to establish farming in the Kafue River
which might affect the wildlife in the national park. This proposal states to implement cage fish
farming in the Kafue River. There are about 300 Kaindu farmers who lives on farming. The
proposal states to cut a canal from the Kafue River so that the wildlife in the park also does not
gets affected by the cage fish farming. This cage fish farming includes growing of fishes in the
existing water enclosed in net cage and this allows free flow of water. As the fishes in the Kafue
River are declining day by day, therefore it is very essential for the farmers to do alternatives to
earn their living. Cutting a canal from the Kafue River might provide an alternation to their

living. They can implement cage fish farming in the running canal so that they can manage their
earning properly. This cage fish farming will help the farmers by utilizing different types of
water resources and this includes less investment for establishing the business. This cage farming
also enhances observation as well as fish sampling.
Project Justification:
This project is actually needed for improving the condition of the farmer in Kaindu. The
farmers are to earn their living through fish farming and this project proposes the solution to
increase their living through implementing cage fish farming in the Kafue River. The canal is to
be made from the river that would also not disturb the wildlife in the national park. This project
will help in farmers to earn their living through cage farming and the wildlife will also not be
hampered. As cage farming includes farming of fishes in the running water which would also
decrease the cost of farming for the farmers. This project provides solution for the farmers to
earn their living and to save wildlife in the national park.
Problem Statement:
The problem that is initiated in this project proposal is mitigating the controversy
between the fishermen and the Kaindu conservancy group for implementing cage fishing in the
river.
Priority needs:
The priority is to be given to the make the project budget and the project schedule for
completing the project on time.

Proposed approach:
There are five possible research approach that can be used for carrying out this project
proposal. There is descriptive approach, explanatory approach, remedial approach,
methodological approach study, and historical approach study. The research approach that is
undertaken for carrying out this research paper is descriptive study. This helps to identify
different characteristics of the problem found via description (Boyle, 2017). All the facts are to
be gathered in this particular research study approach from the pre-determined criteria, and that
helps to demonstrate the interest relationship for carrying out this research. This descriptive
approach of study helps to provide generalized understanding for the phenomena considered and
helps to understand the specific problems that are used in the project.
Project Aim:
The aim of the project is to develop a project proposal that will address the cage fish
farming in the Kafue River. The project proposal will aim to improve the living of the farmers
and lessen threating to wildlife in the national park.
Target Group:
The target group for the proposal are the Kaindu conservancy group and the fishermen.
The Kafue national Park is also associated with this project proposal as a canal is to be made
from the Kafue River and implement cage fish farming in the running water of Kafue water. The
stakeholders who are associated with this project are project supervisor, team leader involved in
the project, senior experts, the junior experts, the assistant managers, and the operational
managers. The need of the stakeholders are to prepare for the project proposal so that the work
can be carried out for improving the living standard of the farmers.

To monitor as well as evaluate there are certain objectives that are to be followed. It is

Different strategies are to be developed stating the details to achieve all the objectives in
the project. The monitoring strategy will include all the indicators that are to be included in the
project (Jovanović & Filipović, 2017). There are qualitative indicators as well as quantitative
indicators along with the results indicators as well as process indicators. Good monitoring as
well as evaluating plan are to be implemented with different indicators and all the indicators are
to be reviewed in the company. There should be project meeting plans as well as all the
stakeholders that are to be monitored in this project.
Management and Personnel:
The project management includes all the pre-activities that are involved in project
planning and are used for organizing, allocating the resources, including protocols, controlling
the procedures as well as to achieve the goals that are set for the project (Nicholas & Steyn,
2017). The personnel who are included in the project includes all the stakeholders associated for
