Policy Memo
Header
The policy relates to an integration of Artificial intelligence or the technology in context
of enhancing flexible learnings through digital channels. The main audience of this policy memo
would be students, professors, universities and the teaching authorities like president of higher
education, education department etc.
Bottom line or summary statement.
The main or primary objective of preparing this memo is to understand or identify the
issues that are been faced in relation to online learnings flexibly. This memo will represent an
assessment of integrating AI for the purpose of developing effective learning for the students by
way of online channels.
Background
Currently, due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of the students preferred for studying
through online education sites and completing their courses by making use of digital platforms.
This leads to raising of the issue in terms of flexible online learning where integration of AI can
be seen as the corrective step or measure to resolve or solve this issue. Artificial intelligence
means as development & theory of the computer systems that are been able to perform the tasks
with a requirement of human intelligence like speech recognition, visual presentation, translation
& decision-making between the languages (Eaton, 2017). It means the simulation of an
individual knowledge in the machines that are been programmed for thinking in way like human
thinks or actions. It is an ability of the computer controlled machine for performing the tasks in
association with the intelligent beings. In today's' world AI is progressing at fast pace and this
impacts on profound service nature in the higher education. Using AI helps in enhancing the
existing system for creating online learning and the virtual classrooms in effective way for the
students, whereas, fully fledged opting of the digital technologies as AI had been fuelling an
entire education system. From creating the flexible environment of learning with help of the
video lectures & engaging quizzes for introducing detailed personalized learning which seeks for
benefiting all the students, AI had created paradigm shift in the education.
Recommendations
Due to COVID pandemic it is been recommended to the universities and schools to
determine the courses on their platforms which must match the curriculum within their on-

campus books. For example- Coursera had launched AI- powered technique known as 'Course
Match'. It integrated catalogue of an institute into its own systems and makes use of natural
processing language for aligning it with that of the online learning offerings. Therefore,
universities should adopt AI for the purpose of facilitating flexible learning to the students
digitally by way of video lectures, recorded classes etc.
This solution of machine learning had been seen as valuable for many of the universities
because of this novel coronavirus occurred (Li and Zhou, 2018). In this way, schools could be
able to respond towards the queries and needs of students effectively & can deliver the relevant
or appropriate course learning to them.
Additional section
One of major benefit of AI-powered digital learning is seen as the personalized approach
which comes up with it. It provides with the flexibility that it could afford for adapting the
learner's pace, allowing them in selecting their respective path of learning, setting personal aim
& milestones along with improving data-driven review or feedback that is just skimming a
surface. However, studying or learning through the use of online channels, students might face
technical errors, network problem, disruptive connection, distraction etc. Moreover, with shut
down of education institution, teachers has also faced challenges in delivering higher quality
material (Rajan and Saffiotti, 2017). On other side, with several responsibilities in handling with
an inclusion of teaching, evaluation, developing the course material, setting paper and tracking
students performance through conducting online tests. This could be possible only through an
integration of AI in developing students learning through the online platforms. For example-
online assessments could be conducted with the use of AI relating to remote proctoring
techniques (Pokrivcakova, 2019). It helps the students for sitting gin examination & monitors
them, with simplifying an overall exam process.
Conclusion
The above study concludes that AI can leverage for tracking or tracing other important
issues concerning to education, specifically in Indian country. With shortage of faculties being as
the chronic problem where AI could help in plugging some gaps for delivering the quality
education to the students. Therefore, it has been seen that there are various benefits of integrating
the AI in education courses digitally as it leads to creating learning of the students and also helps
them in resolving their queries at home only.
