INTRODUCTION
It is said that Food & Beverage industry consist of some basic functions and activities
with the help of which they can produce positive goods and services. In recent years, it is one of
the fastest growing sector as the requirements of customers changing on a regular basis. It has
been identified that this report is mainly based on various business entity which operates in food
and beverage industry, current as well as future trends which influence the whole industry. In
addition to this, it includes different kinds of rating systems which is used by organisation in
both global and national level (Bakalis, Knoerzer and Fryer, 2015). Along with this, there
should be some professional skills required in order to perform their business functions in an
effective manner. There are some legal requirements which need to be considered by the
managers while working within food & beverage sector and at the end of this report a
comparison is made between different marketing as well as operational technology used by the
staff members of food & beverage industry.

P1. Different kind of business within food & beverage industry.
There are ample number of sectors which is included within food & beverage industry
assist in enhancing the growth of business and revenue of the company. It is the industry which
successfully fulfilling the demands and needs of customers in an effective manner. There are
some specific sectors which are the most essential part of this industry are as follows:
Entertainment: It has been said that in this industry, entertainment sector plays very
essential role as they offer large number of facilities so that they can attract large number of
customers. In today's changing world, consumers wants not only accommodation but also some
entertainment facilities which includes stores, clubbing, cruise, gaming and so on.
Accommodation & Lodging: It is the sector which mainly assist in luxurious hotels &
other facilities such as complementary snacks, breakfast, tea coffee and many more (Belyakov,
2015). All these things has helped travellers and other customers in order to enhance their
experience in a positive manner.
Food and Beverages: It is one of the most essential segment within this industry as
customers base is very strong in this section. It is the sector which is offering different range of

food services which includes retail stores, catering business, quick establishments, restaurantsand
many more.
P2. Different types of rating systems used in Food and Beverage industry.
The are various types of rating system used by Food and Beverage industry in both global
and international level are discussed below :
One star rating: The hotel which give basic service to their customers is considered as
one star rating Food and Beverage industry. This type of hotels believe in satisfaction of
customers by providing basic necessities that customers need. They did not provide any extra
facilities and amenities to the customers. One star rating hotels target middle class group who
cannot afford to stay in luxury hotels.
Two star rating: Two star rating is slightly same as to one star rating hotels. This types
of hotels provide extra services apart from the basic services such as Television, dining area and
so on (Bohari, Hin and Fuad, 2017). They target those customers who want basic services with
some benefits like television, restaurant etc. As compare to one star rating hotels the prices are
higher in Two star rating hotels.
Three star rating: This type of hotels provide large size rooms, valet parking,
conference rooms and so on. They are much better than the one and two star ratings. They also
offers extra facilities to their customers such as club house, fitness centres etc. that attracts the
customers from different segment. The location of this hotels is in the central of the city and
convenient for the customers to reach.
Four star rating: This type of hotels provide luxury as well as comfort to its customers.
Four star ratings also known as superior hotels. They provide luxurious facilities such as
swimming pools, valet parking, spa, fitness centres etc. Four star rating hotels provide branded
bath products to its customers. They target those customers who are upper class and ready to
give high charges for their luxury and comfort. and want comfort (Dopson and Hayes, 2015) .
Five star rating: Five star rating hotels are also known as luxurious hotels. High social
class customers prefer this kind of hotels. They treat customers in good appearance with fresh
flowers. Five star rating offers Wi-Fi , high class furnishing, club house, quality food and so on
to their customers. This help them to attract customers gain competitive advantage in the
market.

There are different types of factors which is highly influenced by food & beverage
industry. Some of the most essential trends are going to be discussed as follows:
Changing customers preferences and taste:- It is the factor which is available at the
marketplace which affects the overall business function of an organisation. In today's world,
customers getting more concerned about their health and fitness which requires a manager to
develop effective food products. In this context, staff members of Rosewood Hotel kitchen need
to be very innovative and producing attractive food items for different range of customers. With
the help of new invention, managers attract large number of customers and provide them high
quality food products (Demerdash, 2017).
Mergers & Acquisitions- In the sector of food and beverage industry, there are
continuous inventions takes place. In this context large number of companies acquire and merge
with those food industries which provide high quality food products. It has been identified that
competition for Rosewood Hotel is increasing on a regular basis sue to which there is continuous
change in the market situation which also affects the past as well as present trends.
Technology- One of the most influential factor is dynamic technology, which highly
influence choice of an individual. In the context of Rosewood Hotel managers of the company
use online presence with the help of which guest do not missed any kind of information. With the
help of effective branding with E-Commerce company will be able to gain various advantages at
the marketplace (Gibson and Parkman, 2018).

In the current world scenario, each and every food & beverage industry like Rosewood
required effective skilled staff members so that they can perform their work in a positive manner.

centric approach so that they can develop effective relationship with their customers.

On the basis of current scenario it has been concluded that, there are numerous factors
that available within the marketplace. This type of factors influence customers decision making
from the food and beverages restaurant. Another factors are mainly includes in physical brand,
loyalty, quality, physical and environmental factor. But some of the major factors that directly
influence customer's decision making, those are mentioned below:
ï‚· External environment: It is always defined about physical environment that has various
physical facilities, large number of people as well as good quality of foods and services
which is mainly used by firms those are providing food and beverage services. There are
two main decision with the help of which the decision of customers could be changed
such as amenities and quality of food impacting upon the satisfaction level of customers
in positive way (Starbird and Amanor-Boadu, 2017). It would be helpful for them to
achieve competitive advantages perfectly.
ï‚· Affordability: On the basis of this the main purpose of customers is based on satisfying
their entire needs and desires from the food and beverages organisation. In order to

effective step for companies in order to increase their profitability and productivity in a short
period of time. Health and safety act is followed by the Food and Beverage companies to
maintain the standardization and quality in the food that they serve. In addition to this, Food
and Beverage industry offers unique services to its customers that attracts and remains them
loyal for a longer period of time.
