Introduction
This report is based on writing a personal reflection over a project done previously so that
learning and lessons can be integrated for future career development. To do so, I will
consider ethical as well as the social implications of the research project which was a
software application design project. Moreover, my reflection will narrate how I coped with
working as a team during completing the project containing food delivery application
designing and development. The reflective paper is going to talk about our team conflicts and
harmony which will help me to talk about personal improvements in the professional context
and academics as well. Most importantly, reflective writing in the context of professional
computing will contain moral and ethical issues faced while doing this research project (Ash
& Clayton, 2014).
Personal Reflection
My reflection is focused on learning acquired from this application development for food
delivery service. In this context, I would like to first introduce our app idea which was a
meal-planning tool that implemented food delivery services successfully. The best part of our
research project was that it allowed the users to chose their desired meals for the entire week.
Later then we can produce a detailed report containing the recipes as well as ingredients
required for every meal (Dam, 2018). This app is highly useful as it allows users to contact
local supermarkets for purchasing those ingredients and food items by using the data
generated in the report.
Throughout the process of app development, I realized that my knowledge and skills got
upgraded from both academic and personal perspectives. As a team, our focus during this
entire research project was on app creation, support costs, maintenance and server
development (Boud et al., 2013). As we all worked as a team, thus every one of us gave their
best while making this app useful and needful for its users. If I talk about the social and
ethical implications of the research project, then I would like to talk about ethical issues and
social development in the context of app development. From the social implication
perspective, I found that this app creation is having positive effects on society (hub, 2019). It
is because when people will use this food delivery app then they will be able to manage their
diet in the most effective manner. For instance, users do not need to visit supermarkets

physically for selecting and thereby purchasing their useful groceries for making food for the
upcoming week. In this way, the app creation and research project with our teamwork can be
highly fruitful for the entire society. Moreover, social implications are suggesting that our
app designing is able to make people healthier and thereby happier which will form a happy
society. I can now say that the app for food delivery will save people’s time and money
which either can be put somewhere else (Dam, 2018). From an ethical perspective, we have
added a feature of a premium account which will allow users to gain an extra benefit like
discounted delivery. This is beneficial because expected income with this premium users’
feature will be used for an extra income for the support and maintenance which is purely
ethical. As we are providing people extra benefits and on-time services hence we can easily
charge them for the same which is showing an ethical implication of app creation (Mcleod,
2017). I found that our app is having some serious social implication for the societal people
as follows:
The app utilisation will make food ordering process cost-effective, flexible and easier
The app development done by our team will offer effective health management and
customer management too (Leone, 2019).
In addition, societal people will be able to monitor their expenses incurred on food
items in real-time
With food delivery app, customers’ data can also be used for offering them a
customized as well as personalized experience in future
The app is able to offer convenience to users of our modern societies (Dam, 2018).
On the other hand, all the team members found that choosing the best food delivery app is
necessary because of their ethical implications on people and others. For instance, I
personally felt that some food delivery apps try to cheat people while providing bad quality
food or options during delivery which is highly unethical (Boud et al., 2013). In this way, I
believe that our food delivery app has following ethical implications on business and people:
Strong relation with users and clients
Hard-working team and excellence
Bespoke solution (Nataliya Kh, 2019).
Technical excellence and easy prices

Apart from this, my personal observations during completing this IT project suggest that
every team has conflicts that need to be resolved in the best possible manner for the sake of
successful completion of any project (hub, 2019). Likewise, I have observed some conflicts
of opinions while doing the research project together (Ash & Clayton, 2014). For example,
while we were deciding some key things include app creation, server, maintenance and
support costs then there were different opinions and suggestions coming from all of us. Thus,
we all noted everyone’s suggestion properly and then had a look at everyone’s opinion as
well as a suggestion which helped us to consider every team member’s suggestions while
finalizing the things in the end (Moon, 2013).
Conclusion
In whole, this paper has successfully contained personal reflection while considering the
social and ethical implications of the food delivery app creation for modern society. In
addition, I have also talked about coping with working as a team, and hence I have identified
my own skills and expertise in relation to effective team-work which ultimately help me in
future project completion too. Apart from this, I successfully identified how we as a team
addressed team conflicts while completing the research project. In this way, reflective writing
made me realize so many ethical and moral issues related to app creation so that I can
improve myself in a professional context as well as academically.
