BSc Computing Project: Electronic Food Ordering System Development

This project focuses on the development of an electronic food ordering system, designed to enable customers to order food online at any time. The system includes both administrator and customer modules, allowing administrators to manage restaurant listings and update restaurant and customer details. The project aims to enhance skills in developing effective and accessible websites, improve website usability, and familiarize with GUI design principles for web page development. The agile SDLC methodology is employed to accommodate new client requirements. The project deliverable is a functional prototype of the food ordering system website, accessible via a provided URL. Risks such as development delays and scope creep are addressed with mitigation strategies. The project uses WordPress tools and plugins on the cloudaccess.net platform.

In this project we are going to develop an electronic food ordering system that will be
available for the customers to order food online at any point of time. It will have administrator
as well as customer modules so that administrators can manage the entries of the
restaurants from the website or update the details of the restaurants and customers.

 Improving the skills about the enhancing the usability of the pages and over all
website.
 In order to be familiar with the GUI design principles related to the web page
development so that the user experience can be improved.

For the Development of the site we will be using the different previous literatures and

addition to that, we are also going to use SRS document for gathering and elicitation of the

Methodology

In addition to that, the development methodology for developing the website is agile SDLC
(Software Development Life Cycle) model so that any new client requirement can be added to
the website.

We are going to use, cloudaccess.net platform to develop and manage the site using
WordPress tools and plugins. As we are using the online CMS for developing the website,

therefore, the hardware requirement depends on the hosting platform, no hardware
acquisition is required.
Deliverables

The deliverable for this project will be a functional prototype of the electronic food ordering
system website.

The website can be accessed by the users by accessing a given URL in the documentation
after the project is completed and the website development is completed.
Risks

As per the project it may happen that the development schedule gets delayed due to some un
predicted issues. In that case it is expected that the tasks will be completed using more
human resource to complete the project on time. Another issue is scope creep, we must
follow SDLC to process and develop the website, for any additional requirement may develop
on next phase.
