INTRODUCTION
Organisational challenges of a food service management are those issues and problems
which needs to be treated on time by ensuring that individuals, wider in social and economic
impacts which would result of computer based information system (PAYNE-PALCIO and
THEIS, 2016). The company selected for this report is Rainforest Cafe which is a jungle themed
restaurant chain founded by Steven Schussler. The topics covered in this report are management
practices of company, alternatives for performance improvement with implementation plan.
Apart from this report also focuses on appropriate solutions which can address shortcomings in
company and recommendations for resolving challenges in organisation.
TASK 4
P6 Assessment of management practices within organisation and use of performance review
techniques
Every organisation face certain management problems in the enterprise for which some
management practices has to be carried on for working innovations and to improve effectiveness
of working system (Tang, Repetti and Raab, 2019). For example, in Rainforest Cafe the
customers are have complaints about the food quality provided by Cafe is not good which is
affecting image of Cafe. To resolve this problem the following management practices which are
applied by its mangers to operate in proper manner:
Training and empowering staff- When the employees feel empowered at work, they
have strong performance, job satisfaction and are commitment towards the organisation.
In Rainforest Cafe, staff members are trained properly and focus is given on providing
quality food satisfy the customers.
Selective hiring- The practice of searching, evaluating and establishing working
relationship with to be employees is known are hiring. The manager of Rainforest Cafe
focuses on hiring the candidates who have skills and knowledge of making food and the
qualities which are required to work in food Cafes.
Information sharing- It is key to deliver better and more efficient services that can be
coordinated with the needs of individuals. Information sharing is description of data
between various people in organisation and technologies. In Rainforest Cafe , the manger

quality schemes utilize higher- level resources to provide quality products to its

purchase by buyers. The managers in Rainforest Cafe introduce new ways and
techinques of preparing food so that the costomers get quality food and are well satisfy
with the expereince in cafe.

In order to improve performance, mangers of Rainforest cafe are recommended to
impemenate the following plan which would solve the problems:
Identify the problems- If Rainforest Cafe faces issues may be risky to operate it is
responsibilty of the manger to identify the problems which are hampering the workplace
and which is or may affect in the future (Reed, Wilson and Hayes, 2020). If the problems
are not identified on time then it may give negative impact and there are chances that
business of cafe has be deal with huge losses.
Identify the causes of problem- After knowing the problems, at this step the managers
can pin point the way by which the problem arose in cafe. Mangers are directed to not
blame and rude to people in cafe, they require to have lots of patience. Managers would
take there time as much as they want and find the root causes of the problem. They need
to be realistic and face the problems and try to find out solution as fast as they can.

time but if the steps are carried on correctly and implementation it is done on time then the
performance of team may fully satisfy the needs of consumers.
