round the world. The industry has undergone immense advancements like mechanization right
from production of crops in the fields to manufacture of finished food products in the factories.
The author then goes mention that the food production, marketing and consumption have
immense environmental impacts like production of wastes and pollution. Sandler (2014)
however does not throw sufficient light on the role of the consumers in global food system. He
starts by mentioning that personal preferences of consumers in terms of consumption of food has
immense impacts but sways from the point altogether. Throwing more light on the role of the
consumers could have made the article even better.
