PROJECT TITLE
To monitor food wastage and reuse of waste material in Hyderabad, India
INTRODUCTION
Focus of the current project is on monitoring the issue of food wastages in various
weddings and parties in Hyderabad, India. Issue of waste is big enough as in India majority
of people is poor who can’t afford to eat a healthy and nutritious food as most of the child are
Mal-nutritious. On the other side, People in India spent heavy amount in presenting lavish 30
course meal to their guess in Weddings and several parties in Hyderabad and waste lots of
foods idle. Wastage of food issue needs to be resolve by taking corrective measures by
identifying the root cause behind the problem. In the second part of the assignment time and
costs planning of project is there along with the work breakdown structure. Current report
emphasises on the biggest issue of the wastage of food in Hyderabad India by executing
waste management systems to resolve the current issue. In this assignment business case has
explained which include the major problem of the waste which will be managed by launching
an appropriate waste management by using BIO gas plant by recycling the waste.
1 Business Case
Business case
In India majority of total population is poor who sleeps empty stomach as they can’t
afford to buy a food to fulfil all their needs. Waste can be reduced by helping needy and poor
people by supplying foods from wedding as this helps in protecting the food from being
dumped. It is better to fill the stomachs of poor people rather than dumping food on road and
in water. This practice is daily adopted by all individuals in India during weddings specially
Hyderabad where budget of wedding is in 100-500 Cr. due to huge amount spent on food
served to their guests. Basic problem and issue of the project is to reduce the waste by reuse
the same by serving the excess food in weddings to the needy people. Various methods can
be adopted by a project manager to think various ways to deal with the issue of food wastage

to fix this issue for permanent as adopting temporary approach may affect an entity in the
future.

1.1 Project Background
Current issue of a project is to monitor the wastage of foods in wedding and also reuse
the same. It shows that food wastage is Bio-degradable that can be recycled in various ways
to maintain the quality of environment by safeguarding all the resources of the environment.
Participation of the government is essential as without the involvement of the legal
authorities the project will complete on time. Various non-governmental organization play an
integral role in supporting the poor and needy people by supplying the excess foods of any
event in Hyderabad and all across India to help in attaining social welfare objectives set by
the government of the state.
Guest control act passed in the year 1960 to limit the number of guest attend the
wedding party which, in turn, reduces the expenses involved in wedding. Spending low cost
in wedding directly reduces the total amount spent on food which helps in reducing the food.
This act come into existence to limit the guest of the wedding as this is regarded as root cause
behind the overall wastage of food in the Indian weddings.

2 Project Scope
The scope of the current project is to target both rich and middle class people by
ensuring stability in the society by uplifting poor people in comparison with the rich
people. Heavy budget wedding is controlled to equalise the poor and slum area people to
live in the society with pride. Excessive food is supplied among the poor people to
increase its standards of living.

Background of Project
ABC organization based in Hyderabad started a project for monitoring the wastage of food
during wedding and several parties in the similar city. Adoption of various techniques to
reduce the waste also focuses on the re-use of the waste by offering permanent resolution to
deal with all the issues faced by an individual currently in the city and entire state of
Telangana. Process of project management plan focuses on delivering quality oriented output
to all its end users that is the society members who are suffering from various problems due
to wrong action of an individual.

Scope of work
Current project scope of food waste reduction and execution of approaches to re-use the same
includes allocating tasks and activities among the personnel by following a process that
includes initiation, planning, executing, controlling and the closure of project. Project closure
checklist will help in identifying the collaboration of goals and their achievement to comment
on the entire progress of a project. Success of the project depends on the action of society
members as they can take corrective measures to eradicate the problem. Wrong action can be
regulated by strict legal policies which involve heavy fines and imprisonment as wasting food
includes spoiling resources of the environment unnecessarily.

 Global warming issue is not considering in the project as food waste may create water
pollution.
Governance model
In the current assignment, rules and the regulations play a significant role as
fundamental basis of starting the research is with the help of permission of the local authority.
Rule of NDA government helps in controlling the current issue in which number of food
dishes remains the same for both the rich class and lower middle class to maintain social
equality. All tasks and project activities are verified by the project manager according to the
rules and regulations prescribed by the government.
Stakeholder management plan
 Identification- the stakeholders of the current project has categorized into two
categories such as internal as well as external category. Internal stakeholders involves
project personnel, owner, investors and external stakeholders involves poor and needy
people, owner of wedding event, government, event manager and NGO.
 Assessment- Both the stakeholders affected the needs and expectations of a project
manager who researches on the waste management in Hyderabad, India. Ngo play a
significant role in distributing the excess food to all the poor people as they are
available for 24/7 in doing social work activities. Permission of the government is
essential in researching on this matter as without the local area permission the project
would not get completed.

 Communication strategies- Project manager uses informal communication
techniques in interacting with Ngo members and formal procedure to take the
permission and suggestion of the government to start the research.
3 Literature Summary Relating to the Project Topic
According to the study of Godfray & et. al., (2010) food security challenge is taken by
author to deal with the issue of food waste. They took the challenge to feed around 9 Billion
hungry people to protect the food from dumping. The reason behind this action is the demand
for food in the world from 1960 to 2010 was fluctuating. Challenge for the person is to store,
processing, distributing the food to use by other individual as perishable food cant stored for
longer time and on other hand non-perishable can be store for long time. The findings of the
author showed the social work activities in which the author has engaged to feed the poor and
needy children. The action of the author is beneficial for the entire society in uplifting the
social needs of all the slum people. The action of the author is used as suggesting in recycling
the wastage of food in Hyderabad by distributing among poor and needy people without
dumping to the lakes.
Zaman, A., Patel, R., & Fagan, J. M. (2013) has asserted that dumping of waste on land
degrades the fertility of land as it is harmful for all living as well as non-living things in the
environment. Food waste is used as common source of developing and fuel and energy as in
this way waste can be recycle by an individual in most suitable manner. Waste dumped on
land is converted renewable energy in form of bio gas that helps in individual in taking
benefit from the waste. Wastage of food has dumped on the lands degrades the fertility of the
land which leads to soil erosion that convert fertile land into barren land. The small action of
dumping on lands decreases the agricultural production of the country which also affects the
economy of the country.
