Skill to coach
Exchange shooting and warm up drill are essential skills for playing football. Warm
skills gradually increase heart rate and circulation so that body can be prepared for playing
intensive games or exercise while the exchange shooting drill help players score the goals.

The identified strengths and weakness of the warm up drill coaching shown in the video
has following strengths and weakness.
Strengths:
 The demonstration was effective and was given with efficiency so that learners can gain
more detailed perspective.
 The good leadership skills shown by the coach helps learners to work effectively as a
team. As a leader he also appreciated good performers so that others can also be
motivated.
 The time management is demonstrated by the leader and thus students learn to show
quickness in responding which is vital for game.
Weakness:
 The coach did not show good observation skills. He did not observe performance of
every learner which reduces the quality of training.
 The coach did not take feedback from the learners thus effectiveness of output cannot be
assured.
 The coach showed limited communication with team members which limits the quality of
learning and weakness of individual learner.

Delivery
For providing coaching of exchange shooting drill there are requirements of slow motion
and timelines so that the ball passing actions can be closely reviewed. Further the training
session also requires verbal cues so that better guidance and control can be provided to the
learners and each of the player can pass the ball quickly to the next player.

Reflection
The drill session was a great opportunity for me as it helped me to not only deliver my
football skills but also to assess my coaching skills. From the event I learned that my football
skills, communication, demonstration and leadership skills were good but I will try to improve
my observation skills. It will help to communicate with learners and to help them to correct their
mistakes in the learning.
Skills and qualities required for the coaches
For effective coaching following skills are required:
Time management: The coaches must follow the time management so that learners can show
discipline and goal accomplishments in desired time frame.
Demonstration: Without having this skill a coach will not be able to make students learn
properly.
Observation: This skill help to assure that all learners are gaining delivered knowledge
accurately and in desired manner.
Feedback: It will help to assess the effectiveness of the drill so that necessary improvements can
be introduced.
Football knowledge: The output of drill cannot be effective without in depth and detailed
knowledge. Thus, for making coaching accurate this is one of the fundamental skill.
