Football

The history of this contemporary world’s favorite game stretches for more than one
hundred years. All of it started in England around the year of 1863. Back at that time, the
association of football and rugby football had branched off towards various courses and
the association of football in England got formed. T became the first governing body of
sports (FIFA, 2019).

One of the important features of football was involvement of a lot of people. It used to take place on large areas of town. The charge of games like
this would also cause destruction onto the areas of town that even led to death. This was one of the reasons that proclamations against this game
resulted in its forbiddance for many years. Even after that games like football appeared once again on London streets around 17 th century. It was again
forbidden in the year of 1835but that did not serve the purpose because by that time the game had already been established in many public schools.

However, long time was taken until today to establish the status of football what it has acquired in today’s date. There was no clear distinction amongst
rugby and football for a long time. There were many types of variations with the concern of ball and its size, length of the match and number of players.
Often the game was played in the premises of school. Two predominant schools who played this game were Elton and Rugby. The rules in Rugby were to
take the ball up using hands. The game of rugby originated from this and the name was given accordingly. On the other hand in Elton, the ball was
exclusively played using the feet. This came to be known as one of the closest predecessor when modern football is concerned.

Afterwards, an attempt was taken for creating some proper rules in the game. A meeting was organized at Cambridge in the year of 1848 but unfortunately no
solutions were found to few questions in regards to rule for the game.
In the history of football, other important event came around the year of 1863 in London. The very first association of football was devised in England. The
decision was taken that for carrying ball, using of hands was not allowed. The meeting resulted in forming a standard for the size of ball as well. The
consequence for the meeting held in London resulted in the division of game into a dual code, which is rugby and football.

Other difference in game during that stage was noticed amongst the Scottish and English teams. The people in English team back then preferred
running forward with the ball but the Scottish people preferred passing the ball amongst all the players. Soon, the approach made by Scottish
people became prominent.
An important stage taken towards the game of football was the establishment of football clubs. This led to a meeting of large number of people
into groups where teams were formed in new roads of rail and larger cities (Footballhistory, 2019).
