INTRODUCTION
Like adults, children also needs exercise for their growth and development. Regular
exercise helps in reducing the level of stress, feeling better, increasing their learning in school
and keeping physical feet (Shee, Clapperton and Finch, 2014). Along with this, exercise if
important for keeping healthy bones, muscles and joints and for sleeping better in night. But,
most of the children do not take interest in doing regular exercise. Some parents force their
children for doing regular exercise but as per the current life style kids spend their time in
watching TV, running and playing. It reduces their interest and time for exercise. But, most of
the health professionals believes that children need to do regular exercise for physical fitness. In
contrast, O'Brien and et.al, 2015 has concluded that “In the current education system kids are
overscheduling by their studies, coaching and other activities so, they don’t have time to do
regular exercise” (O'Brien and et.al, 2015). So, author wants to determine that weather parents
should force their children to do exercise or not. For attaining this objective researcher will focus
on the advantages and disadvantages of the exercise for kids. Regarding this, researcher will
follow a systematic investigation such as literature review, research methodology and data
analysis. It helps in collecting appropriate information for resolving research problem in
effective manner (McMillan and Schumacher, 2014).

b) Rational of the research project
The current research report focuses on weather parents should force their children to do
regular exercise and other sports activities or not. Researcher has chosen the current research
subject due to the personal interest in exercise and its effects on individuals like adults, older
people and kids, etc. Most of the health care survey has reflected that children are facing the
different mental and physical health issues because their parents push them into playing sports
and physical exercise (Moritz and Lauridson, 2015). It is very serious health issue of the UK but,
still health professional suggest to every children to do exercise. So, author wants to determine
that weather parents should parents should force their children to do exercise or not. Along with
this, researcher also wants to know the negative impacts of forcefully exercise on health
condition of children. So, author has chosen this topic for whole investigation.
c) Literature Review 500
Reasons by which children cannot do exercise on regular basis
Taylor and et.al, 2015 has concluded that “In the current lifestyle children do not have
much time to other activities like playing and exercise because of the high workload of studies”
(Taylor and et.al, 2015). As per this statement overload of study is one of the major reason by
which kinds cannot do exercise on regular basis. But, on the other hand, Exercise for Children,
2015 has asserted that “due to the advancement of technologies children like to spend most of the
free time in watching TV, playing video games on laptops, computers and mobiles” (Exercise
for Children, 2015). Therefore, technological advancement is also one of the major reason
because of them children cannot give appropriate time to exercise. Entwistle and Quick, 2006
has also asserted that “Increment in the number of indoor activities reduces the interest of
children towards physical exercise” (Entwistle and Quick, 2006). In contrast, Fakhimi and
Probert, 2013 has concluded that “Several health issues also demotivate child to do not exercise”
(Fakhimi and Probert, 2013).
Advantages and disadvantages of exercise for children
Kids and Exercise, 2015 has concluded that “Exercise helps in achieving and
maintaining a healthy body weight” (Kids and Exercise, 2015). Similarly, Ellis, 2015 has stated
that “Physical exercise is beneficial for building and maintaining strong, healthy muscles, joints
and bones” (Ellis, 2015). Along with this, there are different advantages of the exercise for

children such as development of interpersonal skills, quality in quality of sleep as well as it
enhance the concentration and academic performance. Health care professional believes that
regular exercise prevents or delay the development of different crucial diseases such as heart
diseases, diabetes and hypertension, etc (Caan, Stanley and Manthorpe, 2006).
Inappropriate guidance at the time of exercise has adverse impact on physical and mental
health of children. Along with this, long time exercise creates different problems such as stress,
hypertension, heart disease, etc. Overall, exercise is beneficial for health of children but on the
other hand excess exercise can ruined the physical and mental health of kinds (The Effects of
Exercise on Children, 2015).
Impact of forcefully exercise on children
Andrews, Reddy and Whelan, 2011 has concluded that “Parents of the heavy weight
children force them to do exercise on regular basis which affect t6heir growth and development
in negative manner ” (Andrews, Reddy and Whelan, 2011). Daniel and Sam, 2011 has asserted
that “Forcefully exercise reduces the self-esteem of childe because due to the force they think
about their weaknesses such as heavy weight, poor performance etc. rather than their traits and
strengths” (Daniel and Sam, 2011). Therefore, self-esteem issue is one of the major adverse
effects of forcefully exercise. Bhattacharyya, 2009 has concluded that “force participation in
exercise can reduce the interest of children in physical exercise which increases the chances of
physical injury due to the wrong move” (Bhattacharyya, 2009). Ye and Lai, 2012 has concluded
that “enjoyment is very important factor in physical exercise but if parents push their children
towards exercise than it will end up with the resentment of kinds on parents” (Ye and Lai, 2012).
Overall, forcefully involvement of children in exercise have lots of adverse effects on their
physical and mental health.
d) Research Methodology
Research methodology can be defined as a systematic process of investigation using
appropriate tools and techniques. Positivism research philosophy will be applied by researcher
because it focuses on objectivity of the subject which help in determining the negative impacts of
forcefully involvement of children in physical exercise (Bennett, 2012). Along with this, for the
current investigation author will follow the descriptive research design because it is based on a
subjective concept of health and social care. Primary and secondary data collection methods will

TASK 3
a) Evaluation techniques
Evaluation of the collected qualitative data can be done by different method such as
thematic analysis. Researcher will apply this method because it helps in examining data by
different themes (Caan, Stanley and Manthorpe, 2006). Along with this, it will also help in
attaining objectives in effective manner. Researcher will use this method for analyzing the data
which have collected in literature and qualitative method.
Theme 1: Importance of exercise for children.
As per the collected facts and figures researcher has analyzed that physical exercise is
very important for maintaining physical and mental health of children. Along with this, it is also
beneficial for reducing the level of stress and maintaining fitness of bones, muscles and joints.
Sometimes it is also very important for reducing the overweight of child. Including this,
probability of occurring diseases is also reduced by the physical exercise. Therefore, exercise is
very important for physical and mental fitness of kids.
b) Statistical analysis
As per the above discussion researcher has used the quantitative method for collecting
numerical information. Researcher has applied the frequency distribution method for analyzing
and examining collected information (Fakhimi and Probert, 2013). Frequency distribution of
collected data has explained as under:
