1. Executive Summary
This research is pertaining to the topic of Foreign Direct investment (FDI) in Onam.
The FDI in general terms account for the investment done by the company or an
individual in one country to another country having a business interest. It plays an
important role in the growth and development of a country. There are times when
the domestically available capital is not sufficient for the purpose of effectively
meeting with the overall development of the economy. Furthermore, private
investment into the infrastructure, energy or water is the main and the crucial
drivers of the economy as it supports in creating jobs and wages which is an
important part of the economic growth and development. Thus, the foreign capital
seen as the only way in order to fill this gap among the domestic savings and
investment. This study presents about the factors which results into increase in the
FDI in Onam. These factors are basically the motivators which encourages FDI and a
critical analysis of the same which will help in drawing a better insight into the
research topic and gathering knowledge on various aspects. FDI inflows can affect
the growth of the economy mostly in regard to the emerging economies like Oman.
Under this research, the qualitative research approach is being utilized and the data
is collected from the secondary sources. In addition, it will state about the impact of
increase in FDI over the economic growth of the country Oman. This study makes
use of the thematic analysis in respect to critically analyze and discuss the factors
in detail pertaining to the increasing foreign direct investment in Oman. On the
basis of the findings, the decision would be undertaken in respect to how these
facts can be further strengthen in order to boost the economic growth and
prosperity in the economy.
