Reasons of Choosing Forest School As Exhibition Topic
The forest schooling and Early Years Foundation Stage are two different things. Both of
this are foundational methods that are used to provide the pre school education to the children.
Children under the five-year age do not anything about the schooling and education system. The
main goal of Early Year Foundation Stage is to provide proper foundation to the children for the
further schooling (Renz and Herman, 2016). This activity is important for the student because
before starting schooling children needs different type of basic knowledge to full fill needs of
primary education system. This is all about improving their knowledge for primary education.
EYFS is an indoor activity which is completely different form the forest schooling.
Forest schooling is an outdoor activity process that is used to provide information by
visiting natural places to develop personal, professional and social skills. This not only for
younger children, this type of education can be provided to people of any age. This is all about
learn nature and learn some practical skills that are basically required for future. Forest schooling
is the activity that consists of both theoretical and practical activities which are design to perform
over all development of children. Forest schooling is a process that can help the person to learn
different knowledge and develop self esteem in individual (Bush, Bell and Middlewood, 2019).
Forest schooling is about making people aware of nature, ecosystem, role of trees in society and
different natural cycles that can help the student to learn about sustainability. The skills
developed in forest schooling are highly valuable and important to develop skills like team
working and problem solving in learner.
The Forest Schooling topic is selected for different reasons. The EYFS system is
provided to children to develop educational skills in them but apart form this there are different
skills are required to develop in the students which is not possible in normal schooling and
EYFS. EYFS process is not designed to develop practical, professional and technical skills in
children its purpose is to provide foundation to early age children. This is important to develop
various skills in person and that is not possible with ETFS there is also need of forest schooling
to perform overall development of students. This also can teach basic survival skill to children
which an help them in the disaster condition. Apart from this forest schooling is also important to
develop healthy life style in people to keep the healthy and live satisfactory life. That why forest
school topic is selected for exhibition.

Reflection on Project Engagement
In launching any event it is basic need to develop an efficient and effective team to
ensure the success. There are different processes can be used to build the team for a particular
project. To launch this exhibition effectively I want a team that can handle any possible situation
before and during the event. The main purpose of team building is to manage whole exhibition
with high conversion rate (Thorpe, 2016). Team work is important for the exhibition because this
is a complex process that need handling of different tasks in coordinate manner to get better
result. In my opinion collaborating is a process that is association of two or more people to
complete certain task. By collaboration complexity of task can be minimized or reduced. To
form an effective team I have used the Tuck man team building strategy. As per this theory I
have followed different steps of team building. These steps of team building are- forming,
storming, norming, performing and adjourning.
The forming is process that is a uncertain stage for team member and according to me in
this stage they are more worried about their job and role in team. They evaluate their existence in
the team. These are some problems we have faced in the initial stage. In the storming stage of
team building we have faced different conflicts and issues with different team members due to
less knowledge about each other. After some time we were in the norming stage where bonds
were created and people start working together. But team was not at its best (McCaffery, 2018).
The other step was performing where I have seen that there are no conflicts between the people,
and they were effectively working together. The last step we have faced is adjourning where we
have achieved the purpose of completing a successful Forest School Exhibition. This is I have
build a team to make the exhibition successful for children.
Effectiveness of Knowledge Transfer
Launching an event is a complex procedure and it requires different skills and strategies
to make this event successful. I have learned different things from this activity of make a event
successful and develop a team for particular event. To make this exhibition I have completed
different kind of researches to gain knowledge that is required to collect enough information to
provide right and effective data to people who are target visitors of exhibition. For this event I
have to collect the information of both EYFS and forest schooling to provide better and effective
knowledge to children (Gopee and Galloway, 2017). It was challenging work for me but with
help of better planning and team management we have arranged to gain perfect knowledge of

topic and managing an effective exhibition. In the learning process we have studied the
limitation of EYFS program and drawbacks of it to find the alternative program for foundation of
primary education in students who are soon going to attend the school. I have evaluated how the
early year foundation stage do not provide enough skills to children and do not provide them
with essential knowledge with is important for rest of life. As per the evaluation I have found
different advantages of Forest school which are good enough for people of different age. Apart
from this work with a team was a good experience to me and I have learned a lot of things from
it.
