Introduction
Writing consists of various forms; it can be formal or informal (Reid, 2018). This report
is based on different forms of formal writing as short report, formal mail and summary of an
article will be main part of this project.
Short report
Introduction
This report is based on University of Cambridge; and will entry procedure for MPhil in
Public health course. Main aim of this report is to enlighten other students about course and entry
requirement for mentioned course.
Body
University of Cambridge is one of world’s best places to study and various ranking charts
are example of it. It was founded in 1209 and has some renounced personalities as alumni like
Stephen hawking, Isaac Newton, and Price Charles. Public health course is a field where they are
considered as an undisputed leader because of the quality research published by institution.
MPhil in Public Health is a full time course which provides theoretical knowledge as well as
practical experience to learners. It will help students in extending their contribution in research
work and practice.
Interested students can apply for this course but should have UK II.i Honours Degree or
equivalent qualification, if applicant is from other nation.CAE score should be at least 193 and

admission in this course is difficult task as it requires high score as well as in depth knowledge of

Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that MPhil in Public Health is good course for
learner who want to acquire knowledge at advance level. It is difficult to get selection in the

Recommendation
All students who are interested in field of Public Health should apply for this course in
future. There are two things which will help in making decision relating to applying or not. First
is applicant’s current knowledge of the field and second is your practical experience. Some
people may not have degrees in Public health but they can also apply on the basis of their
experience.

Summary of article
New guidelines, released by NICE, contain information about the quality of standard that are set
for caring of adult and children who are suffering from learning disability. Behavior of this group gets
influence by the environment and other person factors; they may get aggressive and develop a self
destructive behavior which may also result in self-injury. If care providers will follow new standards then
they may get better outcome in terms of personal dignity, safety of patient, safe guarding etc. Training is
crucial for improving current set of skills of heath & social care practitioners. Family and carers
should be involved in decision making process while treating or accessing patients with learning
disability; challenging behavior is one thing is a major issue for family members so if they will make
important call then it will help in practitioners also (Osman, 2019).
Standards concentrate on issues that are common in current system. Patients with learning
disability often get overmedication because practitioners do not support care providers. It can happen due
to less assistance at early stage or because of limited expertise of professionals. Personalized care plan is
the key solution for these patients and plan should be made after proper assessment. An important part of
the statements made says that staff should follow least restrictive approach against people who are
suffering from learning disability.
Evaluation
The format of report is fine as it is covering all the basic headings. The information
provided in each heading is also relevant and it is communicating all the required information
about University and entry requirement of the course. Introduction section should cover brief
about what is going to be written in report. Main body contain are the essential information and
conclusion provide result that can be interpret whole report. Recommendations are suggestions;
in above report this part is providing guidance to interested applicants. Content is presented in a
structured way; it is easy to understand for reader (Figer and et al., 2018.). Beside these
strengths, report also has some weakness. The content written in main body could have been
written in more structured way by using bullet points. The format of email also covers all the
major headings; main body is clearly expressing all the requirements and its language is formal
as per the protocol of formal mail. Better English could have been written in the email as present
level of written English is average. Lots of scope of improvement in this context is present in the
email.

Conclusion
At the end, it can be concluded that format, tone and language are most important part of
formal writing. If content is confusing and presented in complicated way then other things does
not matter in the report or email.
