INTRODUCTION
Study skill are important in guiding the students in context of improving the level of
studies for higher education in relation to managing the time and other learning techniques of the
students in wider scope. Thus, it results in providing more knowledge and also develop their skill
in the field which they are attempting to continue their further studies. Every student carry
different skill and learning to complete the task and also the strategies which they adapted to
design their assignment into better results. Present report is based on the topic the importance of
the foundation year in UK higher education.
Report will incudes the importance of higher education and enhances their participation
level and background in wider ways. It also incudes the challenges faced by the foundation year
students. Further the report elaborates with various skills which is applied by students to
overcome from the challenges in context to higher studies. Lastly the report ends up with the
conclusion which is discussed by keeping in mind the respective key points.
A) Identifying the importance of foundation year for students participating in enhancing
background.
The importance of foundation year student to participate in the higher development skills
and studies are in respective of improving their learning skills and the stamina to develop their
skill where they are weaker in. In this wider participation literally means to expand their areas of
gaining knowledge and develop their skill in more productive way. So that they can utilize or
avail such development in attaining future goal. The importance of obtaining such program are
that they reached to the high level education and UK education are mainly famous for the quality
of education and didn't discriminate the people on the bases of caste, sex and colour. Before that
the students are trained according to their mind set regarding the studies which they are
competent to work on. But as they reach to foundation year there skill are developed not
according to their capabilities but also there overall improvement which provides more
improvement in their studies and also they gain knowledge and learning in overall education
structure.
The importance of attending the foundation year for students are resulting in focusing in
their wrong learning and at the time of conducting the studies the things which they usually
missed and it considered to be enhancing their learning skills which is majorly important as

minute things always result in effective learning and also develop their knowledges and gain
advantage in future perspective. This enhances their background in better way, and they gain
knowledge to enter into the university by traditional routes which bring more chances to stable
their life and also they success in future perspective. According to the survey every student carry
different talents which represent their knowledge and experience which they incurred from their
previous journey but there skill for learning are not stopped at that point. They usually enhance
such chances to learn more and implement new skill in their learning, so that they can innovate
new ideas in their life and implement in productive way.
Thus, from the above discussion it results in reflecting the importance is that the person
who are weaker in having knowledge also get chance of success in getting entrance in higher
education. It is not necessary that person who are at A grade percentile always gives the higher
results sometimes the person with Low knowledge also gives better results and increase their
learning through keeping such points and matters which are discussed above to motivate them.
The degree which reflects their capabilities and their development areas by not only that sector
which they are good at but also on various field where they are lacking and bringing new
changes in their skill and techniques which they are using to enhance their capabilities.
B) Key challenges faced by foundation year students
The challenges which the students faced in foundation year are in respective of adapting
the A grade student at high levels and recruiting such person only. They are neglecting the
weaker section of the people which they can also examine their skill if they are properly trained
and executed in better way. The major challenges are in respective of applying the non-
traditional route for getting entrance in higher level education and the person are related to the
traditional education background, if he is not familiar with the education he is not considered to
be wider participant and are avoided to adapt the higher education.
Mainly students carry the intimate talents, and they used in various sectors where they are
enhances and appreciated, but to attaining the higher eduction, they had to adapt all the talents
which they neglected or not feel important to implement it in their eduction. For students, they
are the biggest problems which they had to face while gaining the more appropriate and accurate
education. As every student are not perfect or carry all the talents, every person are weaker in
some or the other parts and thus higher eduction helps such student to overcome from such

challenges but it depends upon them that the techniques which they used to overcome from such
challenges. The challenges which they face at the time of studies are resulting in wrong learning
and interpretation of words are missing or neglected by their professors in the classes. It results
in facing the challenges to adapting to new learning or implementing new work which is to be
assigns in their studiers. They face problems in learning new things, or implementing new ideas
and also the results of other students are impacted on their performances even if they are good in
studies or other activity.
The challenges which they face in future perspective is resulting in facing job interviews,
and they are neglected by not having knowledges or any leaning in that specific field. The time
they realize about their knowledges which they had to capture in their higher education and also
the skill which they need to develop, so that they get selected in the interviews and also
appreciated with the knowledge and learning which they carry to enhance their skills and
personal scale. If they not attain the proper degree, there studies are waster which results in
wasting of money and time and also the studies which they conducted till now are all waste.
Thus, it is the bigger challenges which is faced by the student and also the fear of not getting the
accurate job if they not attain the knowledges in that field.
C) Examining the study skills helping the foundation year students to overcome from challenges.
Many skills and knowledges has need of students, because they have to face many
challenges. Because their teachers provide knowledge about specific faculty so it creates barriers
in higher school at time of foundation (Arkorful and Abaidoo, 2015). Teachers also do not
provide practical knowledge to students so then can not maintain stability in higher education.
For overcome to challenge education system and teachers has need to provide knowledge
and informations about all field, sector and faculties. Because this thing helps to improve and
develop their knowledge. They face challenges at time of entrance in higher education because
interview take by institutions, and they ask about all types of questions so students can not give
answers. So they need to link with real world to everything that they learn. This skill helpful to
realize and take more knowledge and experience because if any content connect to real life
experience and situations so it increases knowledge and challenges overcome that come in higher
education.

Students also has need to focus on group communication skill because these skills helps
to increase openness, and they share and express their problems and wants. They get supportive
atmosphere through this skill (Tomlinson, 2017). So all create cooperative atmosphere and learn
many things. In higher education they have to face interview so through this skill they easily
handle and tackle this phase.
Skills of set distraction free zone very helpful to overcome challenges that face in higher
eduction by students. This skill create zones that everything from basic cleanliness to studying in
absolute silence (Williams, 2019). They also have need to leave technical equipments at the time
of study like I pod, mobile,
Encourage milestone is a skill that has essential need to set goal and objective of students.
They have to face challenges in higher education but if they set their goal and follow milestone
so these techniques helps to achieve goal and objective of career (Gil-Glazer, Walter and Eilam,
2019). This includes simple act of studying and allow to students to make a list of tasks for
themselves that they can check off as they do their work. So for milestone students has to discuss
in group.
Critical reading is also a skill of study that means students has to face challenges in
higher education because in UK entrance exam is compulsory. If they read to everything
critically and learn about both positive and negative criteria of everything so this helps to
improve and develop knowledge, and they easy to think (Richardson, 2015). Study skill also
includes that attend to all seminar related to education. Students increase their knowledge also
through seminars.
CONCLUSION
D) Conclusion based on respective key points as discussed above.
From the above report is to be concluded that Foundation programme carry the certain
objectives which is to taken care while attaining the student capabilities and learning skills in
respective of higher education. It includes by diversifying the adequate knowledge in the field of
intermediated technical levels and professional skills which enhances their wider participation in
providing a new and different route to gain knowledge and enhances their name through their
skill and learning. As studies are important to face certain interviews or challenges but also the
professional skills which are not majorly but minutely related to studies are also important.

Every student which at the time of entering into foundation year through higher studies had to
maintain the professional skill which reflect their identity and dignity in carrying task and
accomplishing the goal in innovate and better way.
From the foundation year it is also examined that communication is the best way to
resolve all disputes and also if any consequence arise it also to be solved in more effective way.
If they communicate properly with their professors and also discuss the problems which they
face at the time of learning, then it results in bringing their weaker section to the stronger one.
This helps to self motive and take effective decision to support their level of studies and also
they gain more adequate knowledge through their own research and development. As student are
self-motivated and carry the capabilities to gain knowledge and learning through their own if
they decide to implement it but by this they had to loyal towards their work and commitment.
With this technical skill and professional knowledge they can maintain their stability in
the organization for longer terms and also they are to be recruited with better pay scale. Studies
had major impact on the student life as it bring more chances to the people to improve their
knowledge skills and also reduces their capability to gain more profits through their skill and
talents. Thus, every student must had certain talents which they had to initiate the at the time if
work commitment, and they used in their wok premises to innovate new things in their life. As
the learning not to decide the person degree inn respective of A grade or B grade. Even the non-
traditional route also beat the A grad people through their skills and learning and also enhance
their skill in higher eduction.
