AI Summary
This report analyzes the performance of four Transaction Processing Systems (TPS1, TPS2, TPS3, and TPS4) for XYZ Company, based on provided data including transactions, system errors, and block processing metrics. The analysis involves using Excel to evaluate the efficiency and profitability of each TPS, considering factors like total transactions, re-entry rates, and blocks processed per hour. The report highlights the importance of data representation for effective decision-making, emphasizing the role of visualization in understanding complex data. The selection of a suitable TPS is justified based on the data analysis, focusing on metrics such as total transactions and system errors. The report concludes with a summary of findings and recommendations for XYZ Company's TPS selection, emphasizing the impact of transaction and re-entry rates on overall system performance and profitability. The report also discusses the impact of data representation for easy decision making.

Introduction
Data representation is an effective process of sorting as well as processing and
transmitting various numeric data within a datasheet. Visualization of data in an image format
that represents values and quantities makes it easier to compare and evaluate the figures. Making
comparisons becomes comfortable for the manager or any decision maker when data is presented
as scaled objects. Making objects that represent more than one dimension of data also helps
accumulate more information in smaller area. This can be used through an arithmetic operation.
The representation of numeric data is conducted by digital devices, which supports the binary
number system. The basic importance of data representation is the manipulating a good
algorithm. By using multiple raw data, an interpretation can be made through data representation.
We are intending to analyze the transaction system selection for the company XYZ. In order to
determine the system selection, we are aiming to analyze the factors such as TPS1, TPS2, TPS3,
and TPS4. The variables for data representation are transactions, re-entry of the new system, the
total transaction as well as blocks and blocks per hour. Profitability of any transaction processing
system depends upon number of blocks it can finish in a day. The profit is also aiming to
highlight for a transaction. Daily profit of the company XYZ is intending to discuss in this
assignment.
Transaction system selection
Total transaction is one good measure to check systems efficiency and profitability. The
total transaction can be calculated by each of the TPS transactions. Rejection count and total
transaction count is given for each of the TPS. This metric is utilized to measure efficiency. The
same is also represented in form of column charts and pie charts for easier comprehension of the
metrics. At first, we deduce the system error, which requires the re-entry of a new system into

the transaction. At TPS1, the transaction was 1000, out of which 92 re-entries of systems are
required, and the total transaction was 908. The number of blocks is 18.16 and there required
2.27 blocks in one hour. Therefore, the profit for this transaction was 360 units.
At TPS2, the transaction was 1200, whereas, there required about 4 re-entries of a new
system. Therefore, the total transaction becomes 1190. Count of blocks was 23.916. For this
reason, 2.9895 blocks per hour are required, as determined. Therefore, the profit is 435 in all
totals.
In TPS3, the transaction was 1400. Here, re-entry of the new system due to system error
was 40. On the other hand, the total transaction was 1190. Moreover, the number of blocks is
23.8. In addition, the blocks per hour were 2.975 by working 8 hours in a day. The total profit
was 435.
In TPS4, the transaction was 1800. There required about 40 re-entries of new system for
the reason of system error. About 1760 total transactions had been conducted in this stage. Count
of blocks was 35.2. Per hour, the count of blocks was 4.4. Therefore, total transaction was 615.
This can be seen that allover transaction has been made was 5400. For system error, there
required 346.2 re-entries of new system. About 101.076 blocks are there in this transaction. Per
hour, number of blocks was 12.6345.
The lowest transaction was seen to be in the range of 1000. The count of blocks was 4.2
and per hour number of blocks was 2.27. Total transaction made by this company XYZ was 908.
For the highest, 1800 transactions have been made. 210 re-entry of new system is required for
system error. Total 1760 transactions have been conducted by XYZ. Count of blocks was 35.2
and the number of blocks per hour was 4.4. As we determine the average, 1350 transaction has

been conducted in the company. 1263.45 blocks are involved in this transaction. Total number of
blocks was 25.269. Per hour, there were about 3.1586 blocks.
This can be seen from the records entered in TPS1 are less than records entered in TPS2.
However, the record in TPS3 is same as the records of TPS4. On the other hand, the records of
XYZ inTPS4 were the highest. Here, the variable is X’ING, where, X is the last two digits of ID.
The given table in the sheet is extended to include scenario where more than 4 blocks are
completed in a day. This helps calculated the profit for increased number of blocks. The same
table is then used to estimate the total profit that can be made for each type of transaction
processing system. Based on block count and profit corresponding to the blocks completed in
each day is also presented. The daily profit is increased from 100 dollars to 690 dollars as the
number of blocks increases from 1 to 40.
Importance of data representation
Data representation is a basic representation of data mining. The first step of data
representation is the proper visualization of data. Basically, this helps to investigate the amount
of various unknown data. Data representation helps to motivate the current research study.
Experiment and data survey design in data representation is the basic framework to conduct
efficient research (Dany et al., 2015). This is essential to display different categories of variables
within a single data sheet (Gampe, 2017). Data representation is vital for reviewing the past as
well as present data and assesses those. Proper presentation of data increases the motivation of
the research study. Data representation reduces the use of excessive text in research study.
Various raw data can be accessed through data representation (Madl et al, 2016). This gives

importance on variables of research study and determines the dependent variable according to
this. Some major as well as minor variable can be visualized through data representation.
Conclusion
This can be concluded from the study that, transaction and re-entry of new transaction
has a great effect on the company XYZ. In this study, then we can determine daily profit and
system error for transaction. The transaction graph is volatile for this company. For TPS1, this is
between 500 numbers to 100. However, for TPS2 and TPS3 it was between 1000 number to
1500. On the other hand, the transaction in TPS4 was the highest, it reached above 1500.
