Assessment of Fran medications to improve her quality of life
Fran is suffering from recurrent seizures because of some unknown drugs she
has consumed in a dance party. In order to overcome this medication, health
care professionals of patients have provided her with some medications. Her
medication includes Lamotrigine 50 mg OD which is been given to treat
partial seizures and generalized seizures including tonic-colonic seizures.
This medication is also used to cure the behavioural changes that can be seen
during the disorder like epilepsy. This medicine can assist Fran in enhancing
her health outcome (Chowdhury, Khatavkar & Samuel, (2017). Another
medicine that has been prescribed to Fran is Phenytoin 50 mg bd. This drug
basically helps in reducing the seizure activity in brain. It can also be used to
treat the irregular heartbeats that can be seen in the disease such as atrial
fibrillation.
Health care professional of Fran also prescribed her Verapamil 80 mg bd
which is basically consumed to cure high blood pressure. Verapamil belongs
to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing
blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. This drug can assist Fran in
enhancing the health outcome of Fran. Patient also consumed Warfarin 2mg
OD. This medicine is basically used for reducing the risk of developing
blood clot that can result in disorder like atrial fibrillation.
