Introduction: Arranging the transport of freight both domestically and internationally is a
critical but not high profile industry necessary for any advanced trading nation such as Canada.
The participants are commonly referred to as freight forwarders or customs brokers. They may
offer a combination of services spanning transportation modes. This industry also includes
establishments primarily engaged in arranging and coordinating the transportation and storage of
goods without themselves providing actual transportation and storage services. Peel Region is
home to a concentration of such providers due to its location in Canada’s largest urban
conurbation, the largest airport and busiest rail line as well as a nexus of trucking establishments
and warehouses. The purpose of this term paper is to characterize the freight
forwarding/customers broker industry in south Peel Region (Mississauga and Brampton).
Instructions:
1. The term paper must consist of no more than 20 pages, 10 or 12-point TNR type 1 ½ line
spacing excluding front and back material. A cover page listing group members and an index
