Introduction
Friendship is one of the special bond whose meaning tends to differ from one individual
to the other (Rawlins) Unlike the other relationships or the various bond that an individual tends
to share with others in their real life, the bond of friendship tends to have various advantages in
the life of an individual as a friend whelps an individual to remain happy, entertained and even
safe. This assignment will be focusing on the various meaning of the term and the advantages
that friendship tends to bring upon the lives of the individuals.
Body Paragraph I
According to the German word “ Frijojan”, the word friend means to love. It was being
defined by Samuel Johnson as one who joined the another in mutual benevolence and intimacy.
However, the word “friend” also has the meaning of a verb since the time of the 14th century
(Erwin). It means that one must either be friends or treat the other as a friend. However, the word
“friend” as a verb was hardly being utilized until the year 2004 until the emergence of the
Facebook application. The word friend and fiend are opposite to one another with the only
difference of a single letter. While the friend means friendship, the fiend means hatred or enemy.
Friends are very important for the sake of survival. It is the friendship that helps one to
feel good. It also helps in extending the prospect of life. It also seems to lower the chances of
diseases of the heart.
According to the United States, the word friend means the person or the individuals with
whom the individuals tend to live or socialize with. However, there is a great difference among
the people with whom one socializes and with the ones with whom the individuals tend to share
their problem.

The word attachment means the bonding of mutual fondness between people. It is
considered to be a tougher form of interactive bond in comparison to the association. The term
friendship is the significant aspect needed for building the skills of the relationship. According to
the oxford dictionary, the term friendship means a relationship between two friends. Example-the
form of friendship with somebody in the college or office. According to Lexico, the term
friendship means the feelings or behaviour of friends. Example here is old forms of love and
friendship.
The synonym of friendship is a relationship. The term relationship means how two or
more people tend to remain connected. It also means the way in which two individuals are
connected either through blood or through marriage. In friendship, both do not tend to depend
upon each other for the purpose of making decisions, whereas in a relationship, the two
individuals are connected to one another. The other enmity is the anonym of friendship. It means
the state of feeling opposition towards the other. in friendship, one tends to have similar likings
whereas in enmity the individuals tend to have different thoughts and likings.
According to the age group of the higher age, it is a bond of mutual support. The teenagers use
the term companion.

According to me, the term friendship is a bond between two individuals sharing a mutual bond.

be derived from the term, mutual trust and likings must be achieved among one another in order
to have greater benefits.
Understanding the meaning of the term has helped me in making more good friends in
life who are not just companions but who will remain during the problems of life.
