INTRODUCTION
Business is defined as the process of producing or buying and selling of goods and
services with the purpose of generating profit. Profit in a business can not be defined in
monetary terms as there are other business too which operate apart from profit making.
Therefore, Business organisations are those which are involved in carrying out a commercial
activity. Organisation work in a same way as human being, different functions of human body is
controlled and regulated by different organs, in a similar way functions in a business
organisations are managed and controlled by management experts. Functional structure enables
a business organisation to work in their field of expertise which leads to increase firm's
efficiency and effectiveness. IOM electronics run its business majorly at two location,
Manchester and Liverpool. A regional level recognised firm operates with a work force of 200
employees (Pujol and et. al., 2019). The report covers various functional areas and skills required
to work in these functional areas.

Business divides its operations on the basis of functionality in different department which
work according to the definite focus and path. These functional areas are group the people on the
basis of skills and tasks, with defined roles and responsibility which ensures smooth functioning
a business. Dividing the business operation in functional area vary as nature and size. IOM
electronics consist of majorly four functions, production, marketing, finance and human
resource.
Production : The production department of IOM electronics majorly deals in collecting,
organising and assembling the different elements of finished products. As the electronics goods
doest not require production or conversion of raw material, instead it assembles the different
parts of the product. The objective of IOM electronics's production department is to ensure that
finished products matches the desired quality and derive a definite value that satisfy the needs
and demands of consumer (Wei and et. al., 2019). The department also deals in maintaining a
required stock of raw materials to continue manufacturing process and, finished products in

With the effective pricing strategy, marketing department ensures that IOM electronics captures
a large market share while being competitive in the market environment. Developing a efficient
distributional channel through which the finished product reaches to the customer is also
determined by the marketing department. Lastly, to increase the awareness among the target

prepare a cash flow report and balance sheets, which represent the financial stability of IOM
electronics. Apart from its main function finance department also conduct internal audits and
