INTRODUCTION
Functional areas of business can be described as the terms of employees that have similar
skills. The present report is based on the case study of john that has decide to buy a small firm
IOM solution. The company is covering the local area and has two venture in Manchester sand
Liverpool with 200 employees.
Furthermore, the study will discuss on various functional areas of the business that
required on order to run company. Lastly, the report will throw light on the types of skills
required by the employees so that it can work more effectively and efficiently.
MAIN BODY
Describing the functional area of the business
Functional area plays an important role in running the company as well as marinating the
overall administration of the firm in the competitive department. Moreover, it is consisting of
various departments that are necessary for success of the organization (Hong and Yao, 2019).
Along with this, it helps the business in accomplishing aims and objective more effectively and
efficiently. There are various departments that are mentioned in details below:
Human Resources: The main function of this department is to hire talented and skill full
labour in order to increase the productivity of the firm in the competitive market. The another
role of this department is to provide their employees with compensation benefits, training and
developing progress such as on job turning so that it can improve and enhance their skills and
work more effectively. Human resources is like an asset to the company that help the
organization managing the overall administration of the business. Along with this, it also makes
healthy environment so that employees can work easily and achieve the short and long term
goals.
Accounting and Financing: This department can be considered as heart of the company
because it maintains the whole capital of the company. And it plays crucial role in the
organization because without cash it is not possible to run the business (Kasaev, Petrovskaya,
and Kasaev, 2019). Moreover, the basic role of finance is to keep a balance of the capital that
business is spending and the money that organization is earning. Along with this, it has to
keep the check on the loan that business has taken form t6 eh financial institution in order to run
the organization. In addition to this, it makes the appropriate budget plans for the business so that
it can invest in the new venture as well as to identify that company is running in loss or profit.

department use various digital technology such as Social media marketing that contributes in

image of the firm in international and local market. Furthermore, this department use both
direct and indirect of marketing for increasing the sales of the firm more effectively.
Information Technology: Every organization nowadays make use of computer and
advance technology so that it can work more smoothly. This department is mainly responsible
for hardware, networking of the consumer and software making. The role of this functional
areas to provide the support system to the employees so that it collects relevant information for
the company. As well as find appropriate resources so that it can be more profitable for the
organization. Moreover, the another role is protect the business form the cyber-attack, threats
and criminal inn order to safeguard the intellectual property of the firm as well as to safeguard
the personnel data of the customers and employees (Sulistyo and Arvitrida, 2020). Along with
this, it maintains the official website of the organization as well as application and make sure
that it is not harming customer.

meet their satisfaction. The main aim of this department is to address the various problems faced
