INTRODUCTION
The world of work is as similar to the word of world, this term of world of work is
sometimes simple and sometimes complex. The world of work has made from the things that can
easily helps to recognize the occupations, jobs, employers, employee and all the functional areas
of the organisation. The working organisation has been exploring the experience of change in the
organisation. The companies has mostly moved from the industrial based companies, therefore,
the company change in itself is not the new, the speed of changing the company is very new.
This world of work can helps to learn the organisation to be flexible and keep the options open,
this can help to take the narrow decisions that can be risky in the occupations that can change
constantly within the organisation. Now in the respect of the individual that name is John wants
to open the consultant name IMO electronics limited, so in this further report discussion is about
the different functional areas of their organisation and the skills needed by the employee.
MAIN BODY
Describe the various functional areas in business organisations.
These process helps to carry out the different functional areas of the business. That
contains the size of the business, business departments and task which contains the function of
the organisation (Brandfon, 2018). Now with respect of this, various functional areas of
business discuss below:
marketing and advertising- the business needs because to gain the customers. In every
organisation, there is the need to do the effective marketing and set the advertising strategy. In
order to gain the customers the company IMO electronics have to take care of their products and
services. In order to achieve the popularity in the market, the company should apply the different
strategies of promotions. The company should be focused on defining and managing its name,
social media involvement and monitoring of the organisation and also producing the internal
marketing communication strategy for the employees (Foerster-Pastor and Golowko 2018). The
company IMO should take these things into their consideration before establishing its business in
the market, because these marketing and advertising functions can help in the proper
establishment as well as in order to gain the customers.
Information technology-as most of the business nowadays is being focused in proper
utilisation of the computer and the information technology that is responsible for the hardware,

software and the networking through computers in the business. This helps to John in the IMO
company to provide the various forms of the support to their employees in the
organisation, this can help in the most effective utilisation of the IT resources that is useful and
relevant for the business organisation (Greenbaum and Kyng 2020). This also includes the data
management that can help in the collection, storage and the distribution of the useful data to their
employees. The information technology is also helpful for the company because it deal with
different electronic equipments, although this can also helps in the development and in handling
the operations of the networks that contains the effective communication and maintains the
collaboration with the company.
Human resources- as the hiring and recruiting to the people into the company is the most
vital task for the company. In order to hire and recruit the employee within the organisation, the
company manager John should consider these things. The company manager should be focused
to recruit the employees having the right skills, experience of the same work and the employees
qualifications also based on the company needs. As the human resources department is the most
critical and valuable assets for the company.
Accounting and finance- as the human resource is vital function for the company,
similarly accounting and finance is also important for the company. The accounting and finance
take cares of all the monetary functions of the organisation. As the company IMO should
consider the two primary responsibilities of accounting and finance that is related to the money,
that is accounts receivables and the accounts payable to make sure the profitability of the
company. This function can also takes care of the HR payroll and informing the company that
salary is paid on time to employee of the organisation.
Operations- as the operations is the important process within the organisations, the
operational work should be clear in the organisation because to finish the deadlines of the project
on the given deadlines (Miller, 2018). This functions is needed in the organisation for fulfilling
all the functional goals within the organisation.
Describe the types of skills needed by employees to be able to work effectively in these
functional areas.
For effectively managing the team of the company, they needs the various skills and
characteristics within the organisation. Although, this can be difficult to run the employee within
the organisation and achieve the common goals of the company. However, the skills that is

needed in the organisation is as discuss below in respect to work effectively within the
organisation.
Clear effective communication- as the manager of the IMO company of electronics, the
manager should consider that effective communication is important in the organisation. This is
helpful in completing the task within the organisation (Nirmala and Kumar 2018). The effective
communication complete the task in efficient, consistent and keep aligning the company to reach
their strategic goals. After keep focusing on the effective communicator, this helps to end up
the confusion in between the team and make sure each and everyone in the organisation is
aligned in order to achieve the same goals.
Emotional intelligence- emotional intelligence is the terms that refers the particular
individual capabilities to manage the emotions in the effective way. This emotional intelligence
is used by the highly upper level managers of the emotional intelligence that is the sign of the
strong leaders and the managers. The employees should carrying the sense of the self awareness.
Empathy and the other social skills that can encourage and influence others within the
organisation.
Organization- in the function of organising the employee may be responsible for the
budget of the company until the project timeline. However, managing the daily task and the
performance of the team members. In this functions employees are also responsible for making
the necessary adjustments of the company that needs a high level of degree of organization.
Ability to delegate- this helps to manage the members of the team for the company
progress. A good employee knows how to delegate the works to the other employee. This
includes the understanding of the best suited employee to complete the particular task in the
organisation (Prassl,2018). This functions also helps the employee that what resources are
needed to be successful and feels satisfactory to making the own decisions.
Openness- openness is the similar function that is same as the both of the emotional
intelligence and also for the effective communication. This is important for the other team
members of the company. Due to openness the employee should make the other team mates
comfortable for arising questions and concerns, also they need the proper clarification of their
questions.
Problem solving- as every employee is well prepared, organised and established within
the project but every employee faces the problems within the organisation. This can be in the

nature of the given deadline is missed or this could be related to the budget control, whatever the
case will be the employee must be the problem solver in the given situations. This also includes
the ability to analyse the challenge, think critically to resolve the problems.
Decision making- after the day is completed, the seniors employees of the organisation is
responsible for making the decisions that can affect their team or on the project (Segal, 2018).
The employee are keep concentrating on prioritizing the tasks to their team mates, sometimes the
employee should be an authoritative decisions maker to resolve the issues within the organisation
. The other time decision making help in the further discussion about the company profit and
helps to guide the process properly.
Pursuing professional development- professional development is the valuable thing for
the company. This helps the employees to reach on the door of the success. Focusing on the
management training course can help the employee quickly the grow their management skills
within the organisation (Sharma, 2018). This will also helps in the personal and professional
development within the organisation, because this is helpful in growing the skills and knowledge
of the employees into the organisation.

The conclusion of the topic as per the report will be discussed further. The report is about the
world of work in which the world of work is similar to the word of world. This can helpful in
recognising the employees jobs, occupations, employee and employer within the organisation.
This world of work helps to change the organisational culture within the organisation. This also
helps to develop the employability skill of the employees as well as well as useful in making the
marketing strategies for upgrading their company sales and in order to gain the customers. This
also gives the understanding of what skills are required for managing the organisational work as
well as how to handle the employee within the organisation.
