Introduction
Learning is the step of moving ahead in the life and with the help of learning individual
develops its personality (Hsu, 2021). Learning is the most important aspect of the individual and
when the person learns new things then it improves the skills and develops new values and
understanding. Learning helps the person to work effectively and is also useful in their growth
and for their career. People should learn new things and develop the habit of understanding the
things which are new for them as it is useful for them in their success. This report will cover the
knowledge which has been gained so far, the strengths and weakness and the improvement
which is required to become successful.
Main Body
Knowledge and learning which have been developed in seminar and the comparison of The
classical school of management and contemporary approaches of management
By attending the seminar of Management I have acquired many new things which I was
week in and I have started working on those skills to make them perfect. The management
seminar which I have taken helped me the most in how to self-evaluate yourself (Eizaguirre,
García-Feijoo and Alcaniz, 2020). This self evaluation is helpful in identifying my strengths and
weakness so that I can work harder on my weakness and the strengths which I inculcate will be
helpful for me in my future. The knowledge which I gained by attending the seminar of
management was the understanding of the management role which needs to be developed while
working in the organisation and also the change management which is useful in today’s time.
Awareness for the business situations and the economic conditions which the management of the
organisation has to face was also discussed in the seminar. These things were earlier unknown to
me as I was not aware of the situations which were faced by the businesses. This seminar helped
me in identifying the skills which are required for the management role because my
communication skills is not much well and I lack in strategic thinking which is not just useful in
the management but also in many other things. For identifying the situations which the business
is facing requires strategic thinking so that the problem can be resolved quickly.
Classical school of management is the theory which aims that workers have their economic and
physical needs only and they does not acquire any social needs or any need which is related with
job satisfaction (Pan, Shachat and Wei, 2020). On the other hand, contemporary approach of

management means the dynamic process which needs to be applied in accordance with the time,
person and place. These two theories are different as the classical management theory works on
developing procedures which is useful for completing the task and to keep the issues which are
personal out from the workplace. Contemporary approach is related with the behaviour of the
people as the organisations are on the riskier side when the emotions and the opinions of them
are based on their personal emotions.
Personal Swot analysis
While attending the seminars I get to know some useful management skills like good
decision making, self motivation skills and many others. Hence, these seminars are helpful in
analysing strengths and weakness which I have regarding management skills. My strengths and
weaknesses are explained below which I have found after attending seminars.
Strengths-
I have good skills of communication because I communicate with my seniors and ask questions
and many others which shows that I am good at communication skill. Seminars points that good
communication means listening others properly, having good tone of speaking, having good
body language and many others (Bubnys, 2019). Hence, I have all these qualities which show
that I am leading in this skill.
I have good coordination skill which I have identified during team or group activities
where I have been chosen group leader many times and I coordinate well with my group.
I assign them task, allow team mates suggestions, allow them to work with additional
resources in case of requirement and many others which shows that I am leading in this
skill too.
Weaknesses-
I am lacking behind in having time management skill because I am unable to complete
my task on time. Many times whenever I receive a bundle of work together to complete
then it will be difficult for me to complete all tasks before due dates.
I am lacking behind in taking some good decisions. This I get to know by seminar
because this seminar mentions some factors which are compulsory to have in an
individual to take good decisions. I am lacking behind to adopt all factors which impacts
upon my decision making process.

Recommendations to improve one weakness
As I mentioned above that I have been selected as team leader many times due to my
strengths but due to my bad decisions my team members complain many time to change their
leader. This is not their fault. Due to my wrong decisions whole group have to suffer and out task
get delayed to complete. Hence, it is recommended that to improve decision making skill I must
start reading case studies and solve their questions. This will help me to understand the situation
and make those decisions which best matches in presented situation. Reading real life case
studies will help me more to develop good decision making skill. Secondly, I can work with a
team where I can observe how my team member takes decisions on which type of situations.
Observing and learning things makes me to understand better about how I will take good
decisions and I can also take the help of my trainer to ask them for any decision’s effectiveness
before taking any decision.
Conclusion
From the above information it is concluded that seminar helps the individual in various
ways and the most important is that it helps to identify some strengths and weaknesses of an
individual so that an individual must work to improve those weakness and convert them to their
strengths and become a successful person in life from career point of view. Hence, performing
self reflection activity on timely basis is beneficial to identify the areas of strengths and
weaknesses.
