This project, developed by Group 13 Consulting for UCLAN, addresses the far-reaching consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the higher education sector. The project's core objective is to forge a path through the uncertainty created by the pandemic, developing an action plan to position stakeholders advantageously in this new normal. The project evaluates the impact of COVID-19 on UCLAN and its key stakeholders. It researches trends in higher education, focusing on identifying the employability skills required for the future, and assisting students in developing these essential skills. The project acknowledges the shift towards online and mixed learning environments, the importance of skills development, and the need to support both students and educational staff. The project also considers the financial implications, including potential decreases in both private and public funding, and emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to quality higher education for all students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. The project highlights the critical contribution of higher education to broader sustainable development through its unique blend of teaching, research, and social engagement.
