INTRODUCTION
Personal development and taking responsibility for own actions are an important part of
gaining success during academic and professional life (Tattum and Tattum, 2017). This report
looks at project classes and independent study activities to highlight improvement in social and
ethical awareness along with improvement in personal responsibility during the module.
MAIN BODY
1 How have the project workshops contributed towards employability
Employability refers to the characteristics and qualities of an individual which make them
capable for securing and succeeding in their employment. Higher education workshops provided
in the module helped me enhance my employability skill. These workshops improved my
communication skills in group setting which are required for performing excellently in corporate
environment. In addition to this I was able to develop problem solving skills during the
workshops of the module preparing for success, self-development and responsibility. These
problem solving skills not only help me enhance my current skills as a job candidate but will also
support my continuous professional and personal development as I will be able to quickly find
solutions to various problems.
2 Summary of selected portfolio content
I have provided a summary of the chosen content for the portfolio and also reflected on
the experience of participating in the module preparing for success self-development and
creativity. I have provided documents which showcase my development as a student in academia
and improvements in my abilities to gain success. A reading log is provided which includes
books, journals and online sources which have contributed to my academic development during
lectures of the module. I was able to gain profound understanding of various topics and develop
my knowledge in relation to reading with the help of different authentic academic reading
sources.
I have also covered various examples from the mini-workshops which supported my
academic and professional development. I was able to develop academic writing skills through
these workshops as it helped me understand the significance of building concise notes. This
supports my professional development as I am able to communicate my employability using
