INTRODUCTION
Personal development and taking responsibility for own actions are an important part of
gaining success during academic and professional life (Tattum and Tattum, 2017). This report
looks at project classes and independent study activities to highlight improvement in social and
ethical awareness along with improvement in personal responsibility during the module.
MAIN BODY
1 How have the project workshops contributed towards employability
Employability refers to the characteristics and qualities of an individual which make them
capable for securing and succeeding in their employment. Higher education workshops provided
in the module helped me enhance my employability skill. These workshops improved my
communication skills in group setting which are required for performing excellently in corporate
environment. In addition to this I was able to develop problem solving skills during the
workshops of the module preparing for success, self-development and responsibility. These
problem solving skills not only help me enhance my current skills as a job candidate but will also
support my continuous professional and personal development as I will be able to quickly find
solutions to various problems.
2 Summary of selected portfolio content
I have provided a summary of the chosen content for the portfolio and also reflected on
the experience of participating in the module preparing for success self-development and
creativity. I have provided documents which showcase my development as a student in academia
and improvements in my abilities to gain success. A reading log is provided which includes
books, journals and online sources which have contributed to my academic development during
lectures of the module. I was able to gain profound understanding of various topics and develop
my knowledge in relation to reading with the help of different authentic academic reading
sources.
I have also covered various examples from the mini-workshops which supported my
academic and professional development. I was able to develop academic writing skills through
these workshops as it helped me understand the significance of building concise notes. This
supports my professional development as I am able to communicate my employability using

academic writing which showcases my professionalism. The tasks in mini-workshops helped me
develop problem solving skills which are currently in demand professional skills.
I have also created an easy to follow personal development plan which helps me improve
my weak areas and enhance my employability to face the high competition in the current
corporate world as soon as my complete my academic course. I have updated my CV and
provided that version along with suitable cover letter. These documents are essential in
improving employability as they will help me effectively communicate with employers and stand
out as a potential candidate.

Communication skills are defined as the capabilities of sharing ideas, feelings and
information effectively through any medium. Being a good communicator is an essential skill

needed for career development in current environment as it helps individuals behave effectively
in corporate environment and collaborate with others to provide the best results (Lejeune,
Beausaert and Raemdonck, 2021). I was able to develop my communication skills with the help
of this module which will support my quick career progression in the future.
I was able to develop my communication skills with the help of this module as I gained
knowledge about academic writing and ways of creating professional presentations. This
knowledge is important for building a successful career as it will support me in communicate
with senior as well as junior officials during my employment and complete my daily activities as
per given instructions. It has also enhanced my abilities in being able to communicate to produce
creative and attention seeking pieces of communication which help me out my point of view
forward effectively. I am now able to develop attractive and concise presentation to persuade
others and highlight my opinion to others in a professional manner.
LO3 Identify own academic professional development need and creation of action plan
Personal development plan is defined as plan which outlines the goals and strategies
which can be used to introduce change, achieve these goals and make improvements in areas of
weaknesses (Morariu, 2019). My personal development plan to ensure academic and
professional development is provided below:

in a reputed firm. The skills which are needed to become an effective manager include

The first step for preparing for a job interview review the job description and consider
personal eligibility (Olaf and et. al., 2020). After this, the focus needs to be arbour researching
the company and determining possible interview questions. After this the step is practicing mock
interviews and organizing employment documents to be prepared for interview call. After this
the final step is to update social media and other networking webpages to ensure that my social
media presence is also suitable for gaining employment.

 CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that higher education workshops play an important
role in building employability. It is important to create to create personal development plans and
prepare employability documents as it helps connect with employers and increases the possibility
of employability.
