3 BUSINESS CASE (ASSIGNMENT ONE)
The business case is prepared for the development of ‘Galaxy Ear Buds’ iOS App. The main purpose
of the entire business case is to properly document the justification behind the project including the
information and details that are needed for the project against the risks that are generally faced
while undertaking the project
3.1 SAMSUNG BUDS IOS APP. DESCRIPTION
Currently “SAMSUNG” one of its Product Galaxy Buds does not have compatibility with iOS Platform
and millions of consumers who love Galaxy Buds and want to purchase it but missing
compatibility/APP on iOS Platform. Moreover, the mobile applications is generally considered as one
of the great ways for providing good customer experience and it will provide user friendly
experience.
3.2 RATIONALE AND NEED FOR GALAXY BUDS APP.
SWOT Analysis
Strength:
 Samsung Existing product has strong performance on Android and same performance can be
achieved on iOS.
 Attractive banner
Weakness:
 This project may seem Apple Company to take their market share for their own similar
product.
 Optimization of interface
Opportunities:
 Once this product is successful same as on Android system it will lead to more revenue and
increased profit share
 Reaching to more users
 Increasing sales for galaxy ear buds
Threats:
 Apple may not let Samsung to be much successful on its own platform by bringing it to
litigation or blocking any functions.

Strategic importance:
From the beginning of this project an in-depth analysis and comparison of Apple competitive
products analysis should be studied and tested
Building brand recognition – It will provide enhanced services to the customers and will be helpful in
creating proper brand recognition.
Increases customer engagement: As Samsung wants a way for selling its Galaxy Earbud product to
the customers who are interested and therefore development of mobile app will generally be helpful
in fulfilling and increasing the demand
3.3 PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION
To gain more market share and approach new customer this can be a successful launch.
3.3.1 Problem or Opportunity
It is found that with the development of the mobile app, the Samsung will be able to reach to a
greater number of customers that helps in marketing Galaxy Earbuds much more directly. The
mobile app will be able to give proper facility of brand recognition as well as helps in increasing the
engagement of the customers which will further helpful in enhancing the yearly revenue of the
Company.
3.3.2 Scope and Constraints
Scope: A new department and its different teams must be opened.
Constraints: Sales and Marketing, Technical and Support

Cost: Cannot be too much as this is a new feature of an existing product.
Benefits: Development of the app will help in achieving the target customers as well as expanding
the sales by reaching to a greater number of people. In addition, the app that is developed would
give severe competition to the market competitors and generally plays an important role in
achieving success. Resulting in More Sales, New clients and more revenue.

This seems feasible as most of resources can be used from inside company infrastructure.

3.3.4.1Technical
A dedicate team of developers, QA/testers and Support will be needed. Hardware needed for the
app development are generally available.

The mobile app development will operate effectively, and it is considered that the app will manage
all the operations of Earbuds with the help of the functionalities
This can be operational once major conflicts of interests will be cleared like Samsung just want to
force its consumer to stick with Samsung Galaxy Products or does it work with others.

Initial cost is less as the hardware and programmers are already available and with some changes
and development, we can deliver IOS App. After proper analysis, it is analysed that the ROI of the
project would be high that further suggests that the undertaken project is economically feasible

Project will be overseen by 3 division teams supplied by Samsung. The Development and Testing
team will be responsible for creating the IOS application. Their main cause for concern is creating a
reliable and compatible app that fits the IOS standard. As Samsung mainly operates and produces
Android cellphones, extra emphasis will be on the performance of the app on IOS to ensure no
problems or bugs damaging the functionality of the app occur. The second team will be tasked with
the app launch of the mobile app and the promotion associated with it. We want the updated
mobile capabilities of the earbuds made public to all IOS users. We believe our earbuds will become
a way more viable option to IOS users, in part to the new compatibility. The final team will be tasked
with support and follow through. This team will be responsible with helping new customers
understand the changes to compatibility and will listen to feedback to change and improve the new

Brainstorming: This technique is used for gathering the requirements from groups of people. This
technique is used to identify the problem solutions.
Interview: This technique is used to collect the data from the stakeholders to develop the
application. Interview is carried out to know the requirements of the mobile application that is to be
developed for Galaxy iOS App.

- Users have many options to adjust music sounds in different ways like, equalizer, bass
etc.
- Users can select different colors, themes and background images
- Users must create an account to logon to app

The above diagram shows processes that is carried out by the user and the admin in the system. The
user requests to Download Music and receive confirmation in return after the music is downloaded.
User also Generate Playlist and create tags. User searches for the track from downloaded music and
Play the track in the App. Downloaded Music and Playlist is stored in Software Database and Admin
receives report about the user’s information and activity.
