INTRODUCTION
Academic skills can be described as traits as well as strategies which are considered as
relevant for becoming a better student (Kyttälä and Et. Al., 2019). It is a collection of study
habits as well as learning strategies which help students in enhancing their productivity. These
academic skills are considered as important as it inspire students for becoming efficient learners.
In order to accelerate academic skills in students, a game is designed which is titled as Cribbing
Atheneum. It is designed for curbing students to stop the practices of copying from differential
sources. This game provides a platform to students which help them in remitting the practices of
plagiarism and also enhance their vocabulary in an effective manner.
This project report demonstrates an understanding of designing of a plagiarism game as
well as strategies which aid students in developing their academic skills.
TASK 1
Devising a game for university students for avoiding the practices in regards with plagiarism and
academic misconduct.
A game is designed whose name is kept as Cribbing Atheneum for stopping the students in
indulging the activities of plagiarism as well academic misconduct.
Overview of the game- Title of the game is chosen as Cribbing Atheneum which provides
platform to students to curb their copying activities from others. It is an online game which can
be played by 10 to 15 players at a time for a set duration. In this game, players are given a
chance to choose their specified field that is health, finance, management and marketing. Then,
players are asked to write a paragraph for specified word limit in their own words. Those
paragraphs are then checked through similarity parameters designed in this game. Then it shows,
how much content of players are perfectly similar with the websites found on internet. A
specified limit of similarity is determined that is 5%. Players who lapse this limit loose their
chance of winning and are out from the game. While moving towards next level, players have to
face difficulties and hurdles in regards with maintenance of quality of work in an effective
manner.
Significance of this game- This game is considered as significant for university students
as they are facing issues in maintaining quality in their assignments and projects (Dishon and
Kafai, 2020). Due to this, they have started to use paraphrasing tools and copying the whole

content from websites. This game help them in improvising the quality of their content as well as
stop them to perform any academic misconduct (Hung, Yang and Tsai, 2020). In varied
universities, rules in regards with plagiarism are very strict which help students in avoiding the
copying practices. However, some students do not took those guidelines seriously which leads
them to do mistakes in regards with plagiarism.
Cribbing Atheneum is designed for those students who want to practice their writing
skills as it provides a platform to them to compete with strangers and gain points. Through this
game, players can enhance their vocabulary as well as knowledge in relation with differential
topics. With the help of this game, students can also practice in regards with writing meaningful
sentences. This game will help students in enhancing their academic integrity as well as stop the
practices of plagiarism (Hodent, 2017).

CONCLUSION
From the above presented information, it has been assessed that academic skills are
considered as important for students for gaining success in their life. Through playing games
which are designed for stopping the plagiarism practices of students, they can have knowledge
about vocabulary as well as enhance their varied skills such as communication, writing and many
more. It is imperative for students to practice their writing skills through these games which help
them to secure better grades in their assignments. It is crucial for game designers to use varied
skills for presenting an interesting and appealing game in an strategic manner.
