Designing an Academic Integrity Quiz Game: Report on Skills Used

INTRODUCTION
The Academic integrity is commitment to and demonstration of moral and honest
behaviour in academic setting. It is very relevant at university level as it is related to proving
credit to the other people when using their thoughts and ideas. In this report there is a card based
quiz game that name is “Integrity”. In this, different academic questions will be raised. This game
is produced with the prose to reduce unfair activities of academic misconduct (Brachem and et. al.,
2022). This report will cover a game design to avoid plagiarism, instruction for playing game,
importance of the Academic integrity in universities and summary of reflection on those skills
which are used during this game design.
Instructions for playing the game
Start of the game
In beginning of the game, 15 unique questions will be formulated regrading the academic
integrity on a small piece of the paper and answer of question will be opposite side of the each
question. The participated students will hear out the question and then answer according to their
understanding.
Gameplay
 In this game there will be four team of 16 members and each team is made up of 4
students.
 A randomly selected question will be asked to the students with four option of the answer.
Then, every students will write their answer in a piece of paper secretly and then show it to
the instructor.
 After this, the correct option will be read out from back of the question and the student
with correct answer will earn 2 points. Whereas students with wrong answer would get 0
point.
Importance of academic integrity at universities
Nowadays, practises of the academic misconduct is increasing rapidly. Therefore, it
become essential for the educational institutions to understand importunate of the academic
integrity (Calabrese and Agathokleous, 2022). Hence, there are some some reason which show
that why academic integrity so important which are mentioned below:

 Quality of learning- By using unfair practise in the education system will impact the
learning quality of students and they can no get the actual knowledge that they need in
future career. Academic integrity make enable the students those qualities and skill which
will be very useful and helpful for their future career growth. Hence, it is essential that all
the universities make practise of Academic integrity in their educational institutions.
 Reputation- It is another major reason for universities to establish Academic integrity in
their institution. As if people come to know about their fair educational system then they
will trust that particular universities. It will build a good reputation of the universities in
society. It will also maintain the reliability and goodwill of the universities in educational
sector (Gao and et. al., 2022).
 Respect- When a universities undertake fair education practices then it make that
institution very respectable and their students also feel proud that they are pass out from
such type of universities which enhance their respect towards the institutions.
Reflection on skills which are used to produce this game
During designing this game, I have used many different skill which are required to design
this game effectively (Prema and et. al., 2022). All the essential skill, used in this game are
mentioned below:
 Creativity skill- This skill include the ability of an individual to find solution of
difficulties in a unique way. A person with this skill has ability to use imagination for
generating new ideas. In context of the game design, this skill helped us a lot as we were
facing some problems in certain procedures, but by using this skill we found many creative
decision so that the game become effective.
 Writing skill- This skill refer to specific ability that help individual to put their thoughts
into words a meaningful form and to mentally interact with message (Zheng, Chen and
Chen, 2022). We used this skill during designing this game as this game is quiz based and
it require some question. Therefore, we had written the important academic questions
where we had used this skill.
 Critical thinking- This skill help the individual to think clearly and according to plan. It
make enable the people to understand that where they should focus and put their ideas.

During producing this game, our team member observing everything, analysis different
problem and then think very critically to make this game more effective.
 Communication skill- It is ability of an individual used for giving and receiving different
types of the information. It is an essential skill and we had also used this skill as it is
required during explaining about purpose of the game. I had communicate with our team
members and provide all details regarding this game design verbally. Therefore, this skill
helped us a lot in communicating with each other.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is fund out that, the academic integrity is become very essential
for student within every educational institutions. It is very helpful for student's future career. The
academic integrity increase moral and honest in students and help them to learn many new skills.
To avoid the academic misconduct many types of services are provided at different platform. If
any student will be find engage din such type of activities then he will be punished by the
universities. The government has also make some laws, of an individual involve in these type of
practice the hen may faces some legal consequence. Hence it is suggested to the educational
institution to increase the moral into the students efficiently which help them in their personal and
professional lives.
