Introduction
Plagiarism is one of the most severe form of academic misconduct. It refers to the practice of one
person which knowingly or unknowingly uses someone else’s work or report and present it as
their own. It has a negative impact on the students as well as on their career. The students may
have to face severe allegations and also have to face loss of reputation (Holz, Beuttler and
Ninaus., 2018, October). The students will fail their examination and will also get penalty for
plagiarism. It is considered as a wrongful act both ethically and legally. In this report, a game is
provided in order to provide knowledge and information about plagiarism and academic
misconduct. Along with this the report will also help in analyzing the importance of academic
integrity and a self reflection about the skills that is utilized in order to produce the game.
Main body
Plagiarism and academic misconduct
Plagiarism is an unethical act of using someone else’s work and present it as their own work. The
research work is done with a lot of hard work and dedication and using someone else’s work as a
shortcut can be very disastrous for students as it can have a negative impact on their reputation
and will also decrease their credibility. Students must have to provide proper credits to the
original owner of the work and in that case they will be able to avoid the charges of plagiarism
(Gordon., 2019). Universities take serious actions against those who are involved in plagiarism
and can take it as a criminal offence as well. Once the student is caught for plagiarism, it will
have a severe impact on the whole future career of the student. It is the duty of universities to
report plagiarism as soon as possible and take corrective actions against those who are guilty, it
will help the universities in developing discipline and honesty in the institution and will also
make sure that those students who are doing their work with utmost honesty are motivated
towards providing better performance.
