Promoting Academic Integrity: Developing a Game to Prevent Plagiarism

This report focuses on the importance of academic integrity in higher education and the development of a game to help students avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct. The first task involves designing the game, named "Gaming Against Plagiarism," with the aim of improving students' content writing skills and understanding of academic integrity. The game aims to reinforce integrity rules and consequences of plagiarism, helping students develop better writing habits for their future careers. The second task covers the game instructions, importance of integrity, and reflection on the skills used during the game's development. The report concludes that academic integrity is crucial for students' academic lives, protecting them from misconduct and penalties, and the game serves as a practical tool for skills improvement.

INTRODUCTION
The academic integrity shows honesty and moral behaviour in academic setting which
considers other people contribution as acknowledgement. It influences the value of education
through behaviours such as avoidance of cheating, plagiarism, and maintaining standards. In the
university award need to given for conducting work with honesty and with the use of correct
information academic integrity is shown (Albluwi, I., 2019). The study is divided into task where
in the first task game is designed to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct by developing
strategy. In the task 2, poster is prepared which covers te game instructions, importance of
integrity and reflection on skills while producing game.
TASK 1
Developing of game that helps the student in avoiding plagiarism and academic misconduct
The academic misconduct is also known by the name of academic dishonest which is
type of cheating which is occurring in relation to formal academic exercise. This is associated
with the person actions that goes against expected norms of schools, university and other
learning institutions. This is attempt of gaining unfair academic advantage which involves
collusion, plagiarism, data fabrication etc. By some other person the produce of intellectual
material is defined as plagiarism without acknowledging its sources like use of opinions &
views, or paraphrase of other person characteristics (Artyukhov, A., 2019). The game is
developed for avoiding plagiarism and academic misconduct by the name of “gaming against
plagiarism”. The aim to develop the game is providing benefits to students for improving their
skills and knowledge in content writing and providing understanding regarding the vale of
academic integrity so that academic misconduct can be avoided during schools and universities
assignments. In the academic life of student to avoid plagiarism several strategies are developed
from various tools and techniques (Domingues, I., 2021). The plagiarism game will help the
student develop good writing skills that will lead to a better career in the future. Various integrity
rules are used at the university, which do not give the right to use the content of others, if this
happens, penalties are imposed and legal steps are taken. The practising through game helps in
skills improvement of the students.

CONCLUSION
It can be summarised that academic integrity is crucial for the academic life of students
which assists in development of their skills and knowledge. This benefits in protecting from
misconduct and penalties. The game was produced in the aim of avoiding plagiarism from
academic misconduct and instructions were stated for playing that game. Further reflection was
given on the skills that were used during developing the game.
