INTRODUCTION
In UK the retail business in very much popular, because it easily makes available of
goods for customer as per their requirements (Allen and Allen, 2013). It includes shops,
department stores, supermarket, online retailer and very common now a days door to door sales.
In this report sports world is taken and the requirements of fund to run this business has been
discussed.
TASK 1
A) Overview of business.
Game world is one of the famous but medium size retail store in UK that provide all
necessary sport equipments for sports lover. Company provide different products for almost each
kind of sports such as Cricket Kit, footballs, Sporting Gear, Rods And Tackles etc. Meanwhile
company also support in hospitality programs for sponsor and corporation at national level.
Game world is gaining success year by year and manager are planning to expand more of their
services, therefore they require funds for the same. In order to attain the goal and objective of
business it is necessary to acquire loan from local bank to cover the missing capital (Glasson and
Therivel, 2013).

B) Sales and expenses of 12 months
(a) Auto sum- It is a kind of function in the excel that is helpful in the addition of numerical data
quickly. This function can make the sum of different numerical digits of columns and rows.
In this, users need to select all the data which they require to add and click on the auto sum
formula for getting addition. One of the key benefit of auto sum is that it provides accuracy in
the result.
(b) Auto format- The auto format is a type of feature in the excel sheet that automatically
change the formatting of the data in sheet. This function is beneficial in the improving
appearance of the texts entered in the excel sheet. For example, if user enters a data (3 rd ) in the
excel which becomes (3rd ) with the use of auto format tab. So overall its main advantage is
improving appearance of the entered data in the excel quickly (Mischel, 2013).
(c) Average formula- This function of the excel is useful in calculating the average of numbers
in the excel by one tab. Due to this users can easily compute the average of numerical digits in
less time with higher accuracy. Like if a particular range B1:B50 contains some numbers, then
the average formula =AVERAGE(B1:B50) will easily produce the average of the numerical
data.

(d) Percentage- This feature of excel is beneficial in calculating percentage of numerical data.
With the use of this function of the excel users can calculate the % of any numerical digit.
Majorly this tool is important in reducing the discounted percentage from total some. Like if user
wants to calculate the 50 % of 100 then, user will need to put the formula in this way:
=50%*100. Eventually, this feature is important in calculating % of complex and wide range of
data in less time.
(e) Pass word protect your spreadsheet- It is useful function of the excel in protecting the data
or files from unwanted users. Basically, this is beneficial in providing security to the users. Due
to this feature, users can ensure about the protection of their files.

In business, manager are needed to record each and every dealing of business, so that
proper record are maintained in order to make meaningful decision. When manager of company
wants to take valuable decision and there are large number of figures, then they use spreadsheet
and apply appropriate formula as per the criteria. In Game world, systematic record of sales and
expenses are useful to make future decision for raising capital through different sources. In order
to determine the accurate result, manager of Game world applies formula of percentage, auto
sum and auto format. With the help of these formula and appropriate chart further analyses have
been made so actual figure are presented to bank so that requirement for loans are presented.

From the above report, it has been discussed that business are required income or capital
in order to run their business operation. There are different sources for raising funds that support
in expanding business operations.
