Executive summary:
In this study, a proposal has been developed which is based on the strategies that are
required to be used for playing the simulation game known as Gazillionaire. This is a
simulation game which can help the players to learn about business management and they can
also understand the way the business strategies can be executed in real businesses. Before
starting to play the game, it was important to understand the details about the game. The
reason is that the game details can help the players to assess the reasons for playing it and the
way it can be useful for business simulation. Therefore; in this proposal, the details of the
game have been provided. Then, the discussions have been to highlight the strategies that
required to be used by the players to win the game. The focus has been to understand the
strategies that would be important in the group game.
The strategies included the way the properties can be bought and sold effectively for
gaining high profit and the way; the properties can be managed in the game. In this way, it
has been possible to understand the steps that would be essential for achieving the top
position in the marketplace among the other competitors in the group. Strategies also have
been developed which are based on selecting a proper spaceship and the processes that would
be necessary for dealing with the aliens in the game effectively. In this proposal, the
strategies that have been recommended for the players have been justified as well.
Business simulation games have become necessary nowadays for understanding the
strategies that would be effective in the real businesses. In this aspect, this business
simulation game can be extremely useful for the players who are interested for taking up the
role of business management in the future. It is also important to develop the business
strategies as such that the competitive advantage can be achieved and financial stability of the
business can be established with perfection. Hence; it would be important for the players of
this game to understand the strategies that have been proposed and these strategies can be
extremely useful for them for winning this game successfully.

Introduction:
A brief outline of the game:
Business simulation games have become the effective tools which can help the
business managers or the young entrepreneurs to develop the strategies for their own
businesses successfully. These are the games which can provide a simulated environment
which in turn can help the players to act successfully in business management (Farooq &
Radovic-Markovic, 2017). Similarly, Gazillionaire is a business simulation game which is
based on buying and managing the companies in the planets and then to sell those effectively
to the dealers for gaining profits. This is in a way to gain competitive advantage over others.
This game has the feature of both single player and multi-player ("Gazillionaire - Business
Simulation Games Best Money Financial Sims", 2020). In this proposal, strategies will be
developed for multi-player or group game which would be played by the players. This game
was released in the year 1994 and is known as one of the most successful business simulation
games that are played around the world ("Save 25% on Gazillionaire on Steam", 2020).
Through this game, players become aware of the techniques of trading with the dealers which
are the aliens in this game.
Now, some strategies will be outlined in details which need to be used while playing
this simulation game successfully.
Details of the strategies to be used:
Understanding of the game:
In this business simulation game, first of all; players select a spaceship which is used
for reaching the first planet. Players of the game reach the planet one by one and start buying
the properties. Other players wait for their opportunity to come. Loans are taken from the
traders for buying or maintaining the properties. Players also need to invest on maintaining
the businesses (Levant, Coulmont & Sandu, 2016). Marketplace and profits and losses in
each week for each player are shown after the completion of the week. Then, the players can
sell their properties in the planet to some dealers at effective prices and then, they can move
to the other planets for buying other properties. In this way, they complete trading in all the

planets one by one for completing the game (Lainema, Islam & Lainema, 2018). After the
end of all the weeks, the player who has the most capital becomes the inner of the game.
Strategies to be used:
The first strategy is to buy a spaceship which can be cost effective as well as has more
functional features. Then, the next strategy will be to identify the suitable properties which
can be brought. This would be selected according to their demand in the particular planet.
The focus needs to buy a property in lower cost and to increase the demand of the property
among the dealers by managing the business effectively (Hanson, Hooley & Cox, 2017).
Factors such as fuel requirements and demand in the market also need to be given
importance. Then, it will be important to find some dealers to whom the properties can be
sold at significant price. It would be important to increase the profits by selling the properties
on each planet effectively.
Reasons for using the strategy:
This strategy will be effective for the players to increase the profits and to repay the
loan in time. This would help them to increase their position in the marketplace.
Competitive advantage:
Competitive advantage can be gained by assessing the market position of the players
after the end of each week. This would help in implementing the strategies which can further
help in increasing the profit margins effectively.
Conclusions:
The strategies that have been discussed in this proposal can be extremely useful if the
players can assess these properly. Along with this, it would be also important to understand
the scope for trading with the aliens of the planets successfully. It will help in achieving the
positive results with success.
