2EQUALITY BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN
Topic: Gender equality and societal position of men and women and organisation involved
in that process.
Introduction
Amazon is one of the biggest commercial computing and electronic commerce company
deal with retail marketing. The process of revenue generation and market capitalization is the
key approach for the company and all retail products are promoted and allocated for sales. As the
reach of the company is huge, some small companies are inspired by the marketing enhancement
of business. This is the reason internal infrastructure of the company and employee satisfaction
need to be up to the market so that example of Amazon is true at all ends.
The major focus of Amazon is the gender equality problem and the dealing approaches
suggested by the CEO of the company. The company has fewer women employees in number
and in between 200,000 full-time workers, the number of women is less and the equality is not
maintained (Amazon.in, 2018). The wages of men are women are equal but the acceptance of
women is less than men. Only 24% of managers are women in Amazon and that is the reason
Jeff Bezos’s company confronted the allegation of imbalance of gender equality (Amazon.in,
2018).
Future vision
Amazon needs to change the process as they are one of the reputed company and
customers' emotions are very much attached to the company. 73% of women are using e-
commerce application for product buying process, so a large number of customers may
dishearten by the fact of fewer women involved in Amazon (Amazon.in, 2018). In future, some
actions can be taken place for Amazon. The increase of women engaged in Amazon needs to be

proceeding and that will provide enough opportunity for better decision making and innovation
(Ruth Eikhof, 2012). A panel of management or MBA girls along with some software
engineering girls needs to be ready for the future uses. Amazon will train them with their system
and they recruit them as per the global business opportunity. This action plan takes 2years of
time to formulate. There are some basic requirements need to be maintained.
Challenges
The major challenges for Amazon are the process of recruitment and the experience
existing employees. Some of the men employees are efficient and excellent in their works and
they are doing their job in a formative way (Kossek, Su & Wu, 2017). There is no intimation of
hiring the process only for women and if they do so, that will advertise a negative outcome of
misunderstanding, where men are exposed and omitted. Challenges like company leadership
process are not done by the female in most of the case and if the company accept more women
employee to balance the situation, then leadership problems and sustainability of customers may
face some threats (Fuchs, 2013). Challenges may come in community-based as different genre
employees will come in the organisation from different economic and political backgrounds.
There is a chance of conflict in the organisation and that will be applicable to the women also.
There are some educational problems or discrimination of women literacy is still present in
modern time and that will set a drawback for the women. This is a major challenge that women
are facing so as the company.
Challenges mitigation process needs some strategic deliverance in business to accept
those employees who are efficient and have good knowledge about the system. The female
employees are needed to select by that process and that will be ethical in all means. Leaders have
to play a good role in that case to mitigate those community problems. There will be some

interactive training and interaction group meetings will be formulated for a better productive
outcome.
Improvement
Improvement will be there in term of customers' interaction with female employees and
more customers' engagement process can be formulated. In the case of service sectors of
Amazon some women recruitment will help in case of marketing (Hideg & Ferris, 2016). The
promotional and selling approach of the company will be engrossed and the gap between men
and women employees will less in number. There are some innovative ideas and proposals can
come from the women's side and that will brings some extra opportunity of income as well, so
the recruitment of women will be effective and impressive for the company.
Conclusion
Therefore it can be concluded that the situation of women in Amazon is not good in terms
of recruitment. The company pays the same amount of money for both men and women but that
is not considered the discrimination between them, rather the percentage of women working in
the organisation raise some significant questions and company has to deal with that situation.
Some efficient and strategic moves of recruitment and mitigate the level of imbalance is the key
approach taken by the company which will impact the effects on society.
