GENDER DISCRIMINATION IN HOSPITALS
INTRODUCTION
The report consists of the gender discrimination faced by women in hospitals. The
women face discrimination in hospitals. They are not treated equally with the men. They face
discrimination in the field of payment, also in the field of work and the types of work.
It further includes the role and the functions that a leader has to play while taking up the
problem. There is certain moral discrimination in all the workplaces but it is more prevalent in
the health sectors.
The discrimination should be removed completely. It is not a desired thing in any
workplace and the CEO of the company or the manager of the hospital should maintain the
suggestions, which have been produced forward, in this case.
DISCUSSION
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Medical field is something which is the most valuable and respectable profession. In
medical centers, the most controversial moral issue is the gender inequality. Both men and
women face gender inequality (Burgess Et Al, 2012). In maximum times, it has been found that
the women face gender inequality. Certain works are thought to be made only for women in this
field. Works, which are concerned with the hygiene of the patients, are thought to be tackled
only by women. Women are criticized in the surgical cases. In some developed countries, only
male doctors tackle maximum surgical cases and in, developing countries the number is even
less (Connell, 2012).

PURPOSE
The major purpose of the study is to analyze the reason of the gender discrimination in
hospitals. Women faces major inequality in all medical centers, through this detailed analysis the
problem of gender discrimination could be reduced.
OBJECTIVE
The objective is to find out the reason of crisis of gender quality in health care sectors
especially hospitals. Another major objective is to give all kinds of equal rights to the women
along with men. It is to make ensure that the females get all facilities as that of males.
ROLE OF A MANAGER
The role of the manager in this case should be definitely to look into the matter so that the
females are treated equally and they should be given equal pay as well. In many cases, this has
been reported that the female doctors or nurse got pregnant and the manager asked them how
they would keep parity between their work and family. Any problem of women should be treated
as equally as of men. The women in the hospitals are low paid compared to the males, this
should be avoided and a system of equal pay should be kept for both the sexes. The manager
should arrange for equal pay for both men and women. The female doctors should be given
preferences during their pregnancy period. The number of cases should be assigned equally both
the males and females (Newman, 2014). Another major change that should be introduced in the
hospitals is that the nursing duties should be assigned not only to the females but also to the
males. The role of a leader is to tackle and solve all the problems in a company. The manager
and CEO of the company should accept the recommendations and feedback gladly (Castro Et Al,
2012).

CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, this could logically be concluded that a leader and a manager
should always think of the well-being of a company, which includes proper recognition of all the
employees. They should put the feedbacks and suggestions given by the employees into effect. In
this report, the gender discrimination in hospitals has been widely discussed. The effects of the
issue and the effective solution should be practiced.
