Scope
Scope of research refers to identifying effectiveness of
research helps in determined about issues and challenges that

this research, scope is that project manager will able to
develop appropriate strategies for related to research topic i.e.
related to reduces the difference in pay due to gender equality
from organisation. The scope for the organisation is to get rid
of inequality in gap of gender pay successfully.
Time
This factors refers to time period which required by a person
or project manager in order to accomplish a particular research
effectively (Armenia and et.al., 2019). Along with this, project
manager of this research required approx six months for
gathering proper information and conducting research properly
as well as in timely manner.
Quality
This is consider as quality of work or activities which are
conducted by a project manager in respect of their research
and its outcome. In context of respective research, project
manager will develop proper standard of their work so that
they will work accordingly as that will help them in
developing and maintaining quality. By using the Total quality
management project manager can be able to maintain quality
of information in positive manner.
Communication
It is considered as factor through which researcher of project
will conduct communication with its audiences as well as team
members (Bhatta and Thite, 2019). In context of this research,
project manager will conduct communication with their
members by arranging meeting as well as in respect to

task and responsibilities and many more.
P3.
For an organisation to frame the project in a structured way required to avail different
types of techniques that needs to be done work in effective way. In context of Rowlinson
Knitwear Gantt chart as well as Work break down structure will help organisation can be able
to frame out activities in systematic format that are as follows:
6

Gantt chart:
Gantt chart can be represented in the form of horizontal bar chart that is formed as an
important kind of construction tool and frequently used in the project management. This support
in providing the graphically illustration of the whole schedule to accomplish the work by
coordinating and tracking specific task in a projects (Chapman, 2019). Through Gantt chart

Work break down structure:
WBS is a type of project management that provides the visual representation of the
detailed deliverables for a project (Derakhshan, Turner and Mancini, 2019). By representing
key milestones in a hierarchical manner enables to simplify the large projects into smaller parts
and into manageable groups by asking questions, determine needs and breaking down the scope
into small chunks that helps to gain desirable outcomes. WBS tool will be very helpful for
project manager can be able to understand very quickly if estimation will exceed from the
intended budget or deadline.
M1
To conduct the project on the specified subject matter required the project management
plan that designed to guide and control the project activities. The major deliverables of the
project plan is communication, resources, time frame, quality and scope (Irfan, Hassan and
8
Document Page
Hassan, 2019). In respective project the time frame to accomplish the project is six months and
messages should be communicated in hierarchical manner. In building aims and objectives
consist of the time period is 15 days and in collecting information it is 22 days, data collection is
28 days. So the major milestone are collecting information from various respondents and
accumulate in proper manner in order to remain competitive.
D1
In the words of William Malsam, in this process of management and in research
methodologies consist of the collecting information on the specified subject matter, compare it
with other sources and collect appropriate kind of information in regards of it so that valuable
outcomes should be achieved (Project Management Processes & Phases, 2020). In respective
project the potential research methodologies is Primary, secondary research and Quantitative
research methodologies that helps to give accurate data and information to the organisation but
on other hand primary research takes too much time to collect knowledge and information. With
secondary source is not too much reliable to collect information hence it is very potential for
organisation to use collaboratively all the methodologies.
TASK 2
P4
Research methodology can be defined as definitive processes or techniques that are used
by organisations to identify, process, select and analyse information regarding a specific topic.
There are various types of research such as descriptive, analytical, quantitative, qualitative,
empirical etc. Primarily, organisations use qualitative and quantitative techniques to collect data
and gather knowledge (Hillson, 2017). The various methods of collecting information as well as
data are explained below -
Primary method
Primary methods refer to those methods that are used by the researcher to collect first
hand information from either customers, employees of a company or other respondents who are
the target respondents of the research. The data that is collected is authentic, accurate and
reliable for which various methods like questionnaires, surveys, observations, experiments etc.
The methods do not require a lot of investment but are very time consuming as the researcher has
9
Document Page
to interact with every respondent individually. There are several advantages and disadvantages of
these methods that are described below -
The advantages of primary methods of research are that the data that is collected is first
hand and accurate. Also, there are less chances of the data being wrong because the respondents
themselves respond to the questions. On the other hand, the process consumes a lot of time and is
not always possible to conduct. In respective project the primary method of collecting data
should be used as it is most important and provide authenticate results that helps in decision
making process.
Secondary methods
Secondary data can be defined as the data that is readily available in the form of journals,
books, documents, reports etc. and is more economical to use. Secondary sources of data can
provide interpretations and conclusions that can prove to be valuable for the researcher
(Polonsky and Waller, 2018). Examples of the sources include – diaries, letters, reports, official
statistical data, research analysis, books etc. The advantages of these methods are that they
provide authentic and reliable data which can be used. Also, secondary methods help in saving
time as well as cost that is otherwise involved in collecting the same. Disadvantages of
secondary methods of research can be their non specificity to one's needs.
Quantitative and Qualitative research
Quantitative research can be defined as a research that particularly deals with numbers,
logic and statistics. The main characteristics of the research are that the data that is gathered is
usually collected using various research instruments and the results are based on a large sample
size (Bell and Harrison, 2018). The researcher is aware of the research question and the primary
objectives for conducting the research. Various tools that can be used for conducting a
quantitative research are questionnaires, surveys and observation. On the other hand, a
qualitative research can be defined as the research that addresses questions dealing with non-
numerical data and helps in gaining information about reasons and opinions about a topic. In
respective project the both the qualitative research tool is used that is non numerical method that
helps to understand the social reality of individuals, groups and cultures and exploratory in
natures by seeking 'How' and 'way' a particular phenomenon operates. So it is very much
effective for respective project.

Sampling can be defined as the process of selecting a predetermined number of
observations from a large populations. Different kinds of sampling like random or systematic
sampling can be used by the researcher depending on the kind of research that is being
undertaken. Sampling is an important component of a research which can help in avoiding bias
which is also its primary objective. The method used is random sampling, the sample size is 20
respondents and are customers of the respective company. Random sampling is the best way of
selecting the sample form the large population of interest. The major advantage behind using
respective tool that it target large no. of individuals by eliminating bias so for respective project
random sampling is best for them.

For a project manager it is very much essential to opt the one of best tool and techniques
in order to collect necessary knowledge and information. By using the primary and secondary
source of information that helpful in collecting validate information in cost effective manner.
With the help of qualitative research tool that provides suitability to measure the results and
compare easily with other results in order to achieve desirable outcomes. But on other hand the
primary method of collecting information is costly in nature. Qualitative methodology relies on
the experience of the researcher.
