INTRODUCTION
Equality ensure equal opportunities and right of every individual, without discriminating
them on any basis or characteristics. While diversity is related to operating business operations
with individuals those who are having differences in terms of values, race, culture and more. By
promoting equality and diversity organisation can effectively ensure that every individual is
having access of equal opportunities and have fair or same treatment. This will allow business to
thrive for long period of time in aggressive competition (Pramanik, Mondal and Haldar, 2020).
Present report has been conducted on Volkswagen, which is operating its business at
worldwide level and founded in the year 1937. Report involves discussions upon project aims
and objectives, literature review based upon laid down objectives and project management plan.
In addition to this report also include Gantt chart and work break down concepts along with
qualitative and quantitative data collection approach. Further respective project includes self-
questionnaire as primary data collection method and reflection on project experience. Lastly,
recommendations has been given to company through which they can embrace equality and
diversity in their workplace premises.

P1 Aim and objectives
This project has been conducted on equality and diversity issue which is gender pay gap. This
issue affects business operations of Volkswagen in number of ways. In this project there are
some measures through which company can overcome this issue in effective way.
Research Aim: “ To determine the impact of Gender pay upon performance of employees in an
organisation workplace structure”. A case study on Volkswagen.
Research Objectives:
To develop proper understanding of equality and diversity concept in company
workplace structure.
To identify the impact of gender pay gap concept on employee performance in
Volkswagen To determine various strategies that Volkswagen need to be adopted in order to overcome
gender pay gap issue.

employee within workplace structure. In this entity ensure that there is no discrimination within
workplace as it significantly affect morale, motivation and performance of employees in number
of ways. For this purpose, it becomes essential for all organisations to ensure that they have
equality and diversity within their organisational structure as it significantly allows them to
increase performance level of their employees by ensuring their human rights as well as
opportunities.
Gender pay gap issue within Volkswagen
According to the perceptions of Abd Majid, 2020, gender pay gap is defined in one of the
major issues that occurred when remuneration and salary is being offered to employees by
differentiating them on the basis of male or female staff. It there is any gap in salary and
remuneration amount between men and women workers at same position then it is considered as

employees. It has been evaluated that employees within workplace structure get affected with
various forms of issues that are having direct impact on their performance and productivity. this,
gender pay gap acts as major issue which is creating number of obstacles and restricts employees
to fulfil their goals with great efficiency. This makes organisation to undertake effective steps
and measures to overcome this issue and provide equal and diversified workplace structure to
employees. Further, it has been evaluated that employees can face gender gay gap in terms of
weekly earnings, hourly earnings, annual income and week pay off also, that highly impact on

A project management plan is the formal document that guides how to implement and
supervise a project. All the required things for execution of project are considered in project
management plan. For example cost of the project, risk involved, resources required for
execution of plan etc. following are the aspects of project management plan in respect to
Volkswagen :
Cost :- Cost is the value of money used by organisations to produce something. In terms
of business cost is described as the amount of money spent on production and manufacturing of
goods and products. Cost management is an essential part of project management plan which
helps in controlling the specific cost of the product. It is an important aspect of project
management plan. In terms of Volkswagen the total cost of the project is estimated as £60,000.

scope :- Scope is described as the combination of requirements and objectives that are
essential for the accomplishment of a project. In project management plan scope allows
managers to analyse the time and cost neededfor completion of a project. with respect to
Volkswagen developing and implementing of plan will directly affect the performance of
employees. As the provision of equal pay system established through implementing of the plan
removes the inequality and builds confidence among employees..
Quality :- managing quality is an important part of overall process of project
management plan. Quality management is defined as the process of ensuring that all the
activities related to the project are designed and implemented in effective and efficient manner
with respect to its objectives and performance. Quality can be controlled and managed by getting
feedback from employees. Volkswagen should monitor the plan and implement the required
changes. This will leads the successful operation of the project. .
Communication :- In project management plan communication considered as the
medium through which company can share message and information to its customers. Right
choice of communication mode helps in maintaining effectiveness in the process. The managers
of Volkswagen can use several effective techniques such as- communicating the vision of the
company, setting clear priorities of business and building better relation and understanding
between employees. This helps in purposeful implementation of management plan.

Work break down is systematic measure through which an individual can segregate wide
range of complex activities into small or manageable parts (Gozali and et. al., 2020). With the
help of this method research can effectively allow themselves to fulfil research objectives with
great effectiveness. In addition to this, it has been determined that WBS provide an aid to
researcher through which they can fulfil research aim and objectives in given period of time
(Yıldırım and Korkmaz, 2020).

Primary research: The research which is created for the first time that gives the first
hand information to the researcher is called primary research. The purpose of this is to get
information that has been not given before. It is the expensive and time consuming method that
gives more authentic data and it is done to meet specific needs of a problem. Interview, surveys,
observation and focus groups are the important method of primary research.
Secondary research: The research which provides already gathered information and
designed by some one else. It gives the data and information from the reports of others. It is time
savvy and less expensive approach but doesn't provide more authentic informations. Methods of
secondary research includes reports submitted by research scholars and educational institutes,
publications of central and local government, balance sheet of business entities, trade journals,
magazines etc.
Both the types of research are used as per the requirement of the situation. Here, the

Equality and diversity is playing essential role within an organisation, as it allows entity
to provide positive workplace to their employees and enhance their overall performance at great
extent. In addition to this, it has been evaluated that with the help of this concept entity can not
only increase performance of their employees but can also maximise profitability of company at
great extent. According to the above mentioned graph, it has been evaluated that from 30
respondents, 20 are well aware with the concept of quality and diversity within organisational
workplace structure. While on the other hand, remaining 10 respondents did not have any
knowledge of the given concept.
