I have prepared this reflection on the basis of the research program carried on the topic “Impact
of the gender wage gap on business performance in Australian financial industries”. Gender
wage gap is an important issue which has created an impact on the performance of the business
operating in the Australian Financial Industries. Various policies have been formulated by the
government so as to eliminate the cases of gender wage gap in Australia. I have used the learning
process for developing the knowledge and skills possessed by me. In this reflection, the
discussion will be made regarding the impact of this research program on the skills, knowledge,
experience and learning process.
The learning experience is an essential element, the impact of which can be seen on the
knowledge and skills of the individual. This experience is of great importance for me as it has
developed my knowledge regarding the issue of gender wage gap and numerous initiatives taken
by the government of Australia for overcoming these issues. From the execution of this program,
I have gathered knowledge regarding the impact of gender wage gap. The primary focus of the
government of Australia is on resolving the issue of gender difference and enhancing the quality
of life (KPMG, 2016).
For the accomplishment of the objectives set for the course and program, there was a
need to complete the research program in a successful manner. Knowledge of gender wage gap
has encouraged me in learning the measures which can be used for the management of the
human resource in an appropriate manner. Every professional has to deal with people of different
genders at the workplace. It is essential to treat every individual in the workplace equal. This
knowledge will be put to use in the workplace and will provide direction in dealing with the

people of different genders properly (Hidaka, 2013). Performance of the employees is dependent
on the behavior of the employer towards them.
For encouraging the performance of the employees, I have to develop knowledge
regarding the different aspects of the gender wage gap, impact of this issue and measures
adopted by the government for resolving this issue. I have assembled quality data with the help
of different methods or approaches so as to maintain the quality of the research program. During
the execution process of a research program, the focus of the researcher is on maintaining the
quality and collection of relevant data for the research. (Manders & Galvani, 2014)
This business research program has played a crucial role in meeting the objectives of the
learning process. As a professional, an individual has to conduct market research activities for
the accumulation of relevant data. This research has taught me the manner in which
accumulation of the data is done. It has been analyzed that the concept of equal pay is gaining
the attention of the government and different sectors of the economies of the world. Learning
process prepares the individual for dealing with the situations occurring in future with a better
approach (Bulman, et. al., 2014).
For the accomplishment of the objectives of the research program, data has been
assembled which has been presented in the assignment one. Gender wage gap is an important
issue which has affected the quality of life of the employees working in the different industries.
Data has been assembled for developing knowledge of this issue. For the assembling of the
relevant data, different approaches have been applied. These approaches applied have been
defined in the assignment 2 of the research program.

I have learned that gender wage gap has been a major issue for the government of
Australia. I will apply the knowledge developed for resolving the issues related to gender wage
gap at the workplace. The focus should be on promoting equal wage pay despite the differences
between genders. Data has been collected from the articles, journals, and notifications issued by
the government of Australia for maintaining the relevance and presenting the fair data (Hannan,
2017).
Thus, from the above discussion, it can be stated that gender wage gap has affected the
quality of the human resource, performance, productivity, and reputation of the business. I have
prepared this research program so as to enhance the knowledge regarding the issue of gender
wage gap and different measures or strategies adopted by the government of Australia for
dealing with this issue. I have conducted the research on the basis of the objectives and research
questions framed. The scope of the research program has been defined which has provided
guidance to my efforts towards successful completion of the research program.
