Gene Woods originally named as the Eugene woods is the holder of degrees such as
MBA, MHA and FACHE. He is also the holder of the President as well as the Chief Executive
Officer of the Carolinus Healthcare System. He had the responsibility of overseeing one of the
most comprehensive as well as highly integrated healthcare systems in the nation of United
States. He was appointed by such a huge responsibility in the year 2016 on 11 Feb. additionally
due to his able leadership and expert skills of management, he was also made a member of the
board of trustees of the American Hospital Association and was also elected as the chairman in
the year 2017 (Kash, 2017). The person was seen to have a total leadership of approximately 25
years in healthcare and had overseen different types of healthcare centers and its management.
He has taken care of for-profit and not-for profit hospitals as well as academic and community
based delivery systems rural and urban facilities. Previously, he has served the dual role as a Ceo
of eight-hospital Saint Joseph Health System as well as the Senior Vice President of the system
for being responsible for helping the implementation of the national initiatives for the faith based

State University. These are the “a bachelor’s degree in health planning and administration”, “a
master’s degree in business administration” and “a master’s degree in health administration”.
Carolinas HealthCare System has become one of the leading healthcare organizations in
the region of the southeast in the nation. It is mainly one of the most comprehensive as well as
not for profit systems in the country (Kamal et al., 2018). The country is seen to have more than
900 care locations in the nation serving for huge number of service users who come for

enjoy their families, that person, that community cannot be healthy,”. From this interaction with
him, it could be easily noted that he was not only a man of noble principle but also realized that
population health is one the biggest responsibility of all the healthcare organizations and
therefore it is the best way by which healthcare professionals should engage with the
communities effectively. He also participated in the joint effort of the AHA as well other hospital
and healthcare groups in order to urge hospital leaders to vote for the equity of care which would
get affected by the American Health Care Act. Moreover, he also urged that as professionals in
the healthcare industry, it is very important to understand the different cultures, different
customs as well as the languages in the different communities with all the dimensions of care.
This shows that he was culturally competent in his professional skills.
