groups of stakeholders associated with the company. Hence, the paper has discussed the scope of

General Motors Corp has shown their affiliation with the policy of inclusion and diversity with
the help of the appointment of Mary Barra as their CEO. This acts as an example that the
company has set to elevate their standards of all the global level MNCs in terms of inclusion in
their ranks. Inclusion of women in the top managerial roles is an issue organisation must cater to
while they are operating in the industry and the fact that General Motor Corp. has been able to do

General Motors Corp was founded in 1908 and has its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan
(Gm.com, 2019). In 15th January 2014, Mary T. Barra as appointed as the CEO of the company.
The latter has been termed as an activity that revolutionised the industry, and the paper will
evaluate the scope of the same. Diversity and inclusion is an activity that acts as a CSR activity
that helps in the company in terms of gaining appreciation from the diverse groups of
stakeholders of the company (Oswick & Noon, 2014). It should be identified that the selection
and appointment in organisations should be based on the actual level of competency of an
individual. The gender or cultural belonging of the individual should be the last thing to be paid
attention to while appointing an individual at a position that involves a high degree of
responsibility. Diversity amongst genders is a factors that organisations have to incorporate into
their operations while aiming to cope with the diversity and inclusion. Same has been carried out
by General Motor Corp. while they have been associated to the business environment that is
dynamic in nature. Ethnicity and education are also some factors that have been taken into
consideration while by the organisation. There are various organisations which show a high
degree of nepotism while they make the selection for a position in their organisation. With the
help of diversity, an organisation can boost their levels of competency through the assimilation
of individual bringing in the diverse levels of expertise at the disposal of the organisation. The
