Justification
This unit is the discussion of the topic “Geometry” and is a integration of the ICT
resources, game based instructions and learning and direct instructions, methods that embrace
specialized instructions, formative and summative assessments and understanding by design
(Teaching methods, 2019) . These methods will represent the knowledge of student learning and
teaching learning and strategies. Specialized methods are the methods of learning by which
students will be benefited during their learning process and also they way they represents their
learning and the environment in which they are learning. The game based learning instruction

methods is an effective method of learning for the students as it makes them learn faster and also
it is engaging. This is the learning strategy in which in the game activities and characteristics are
embossed with the learning activities. This is the best way to enhance the student learning.
Therefore, the teachers have thoughtfully adjusted the learning plans with the games in their
instructions to have effective learning and to meet students needs (Game Based Learning, 2019).
Also through this technique of teaching the teacher gets engaged with the students and is paying
attention to each student. Also this helps the teacher in building their creativity in learning and
teaching and games also motivates them to opt the learning that is direct and innovative for the
students to understand. Though it is creative techniques of teaching and learning but it is also
burden for the teacher as the teacher has to pre- plan activities and games, maintain it every
week, reward the students and all this increases their workload. Some mathematics is burden to
students but with game and learning the students show interest and are excited to learn and attend
the class.
Apart from this method of teaching and learning direct instruction method is also used
which is effective in mathematics as clears the concept in the minds of the students and also the
teaching become more easy and precise. With the personalized instruction methods the students
are able to connect mathematics with their everyday life examples. The topic like geometry has
huge scope for learning with the daily objects rather than textbooks. Therefore, teacher has
assigned the questions that are solved with basic understanding of daily life. The lesson plan
also has the activities where the students can utilize their creativity and interest in the geometry
and learn it with efficiency. The applications of the ICT resources such as power point
presentation, Excel, You- tube videos, allow the improvement of cognitive skills which benefits
students to effectively analyse the concepts of the mathematics in visual format. Assessments are
the powerful tool used in the lesson plan to evaluate the learning of the students. The
assessments assist the teachers in analysing their personal skills in the form of strengths and
weaknesses and the strengths of the students and students those are weak in learning. Formative
feedbacks are useful to both teachers and students in analysing the progress of their learning.
These methods will represent the knowledge of student learning and teaching learning and
strategies. Specialized methods are the methods of learning by which students will be benefited
during their learning process and also they way they represents their learning and the
environment in which they are learning. Thus, the applications of the teaching and learning

methods, techniques such as game based learning, personalized learning are beneficial in
achieving desired teaching and learning goals.
