Changing stand of Italy towards its allegiance during the course of the world war one,
changed the course of the history for Europe, now after the disintegration of Europe, the
experts are expecting the repetition of any such event in the coming 30 years. Prior to the
BREXIT, EU was more or less like an elite club where members were sharing common
grounds in the form of religion and regional culture.
The geopolitical alliances of the members of the EU were also facilitating trade agreements
and foreign policies of the countries were in synchronization with each other. From a
historical perspective when we see the disintegration of USSR and current tension in Indian
sub-continent, we can clearly say that formation of EU played a key role in maintaining law
and order and international harmony in EU (Burns, 2019).
Question 2
The geopolitical environment of the European Union countries are full of similarities, we can
start it with religion itself, and Christianity is the main religion. Almost seventy-seven
percent of populations living in Europe follows Christianity. The Paris agreement of 1952
facilitated a supranational body to take care of adequate taxation and other trade-related
agreements among the countries. The single Europe act of 1986 converted this region into a
single reason and clubbed together the resources to convert it into a single market. Religion,
trade, and agreement of interests among the political powers created an ideal geopolitical
ambiance for the stability of the European Union as a joint power facing the world.
Prior to the BREXIT and disintegration of Europe, the condition of the EU was equivalent to
the USA where many diverse cultures were thriving under a single banner. On the political
front, countries of the EU and USA were sharing the same international ideologies. We can

say that they were sailing in the same boat and their opinions were similar to international
issues. However, the disintegration of EU changed this equation, now each country in EU is
seeking for a different set of allies to conduct international affairs and the picture related to
international relations is still unclear in many ways, or we can say that is still under
formation.
Question 3
Post-cold war days, the USA continued its hegemony over various parts of the world; many
experts gave it the name of the economic imperialism. Many commerce experts gave it the
name of “Military Industrial Complex.” The USA spends heavily on military exercises.
Post-cold war days, US hegemony continued they attempted more than eight interventions
with an intention to strengthen their economic imperialism. Known as US covert operations,
these interventions were dubbed as an attempt of the USA to make its presence felt in the
international region. After the post-war days, the US started showing a keen interest in the
affairs of Gulf countries and the Middle East Region.
The economic performance of this region is very important in an American perspective
because of the Petro-dollars. The current presence of the USA in the Gulf region denotes an
invisible empire of sorts. During the reign of Obama certain movements related to the
international affairs took a back seat, however, the aggressive ways of Donald Trump brought
it back on the same track (Boron, 2016).
Question 4
The success of the United States of America is impeccable as a military imperial power. The
military activities of USA strengthen its presence in the trade circuits as well. The success

and influence of the iron triangle in the policy-making processes of the country tell us
evidently about it.
During the days of the Gulf, War USA got this opportunity to develop a military base in the
Gulf Region, now they are expanding these bases to strengthen their grip on the other
activities of the region as well. US economic power has a strong correlation with US
economic power. Post-Cold War days the USA won the status of being a superpower in the
world. During the great recession of 21st century, it started losing its economic strength,
however, it was the time when military based supremacy of USA supported its status of being
a superpower (Kwat, 2019).
Currently, the USA has a strong influence in world affairs and they are using tactics to
control major trade operations for their optimal benefits. With the help of military deterrence,
they are enjoying an advantage of power over the other players in a subtle fashion.
