INTRODUCTION
The cerebrovascular accident is a condition in which the brain blood vessels broken down
and caused blood clotting within the brain. Symptoms include dizziness, numbness as well as
weakness occur on the one side of the body due to this individual face difficulty in talking,
writing as well as in understanding of language. The report writing include a case study on Malta
who is suffering from cerebrovascular accident as well as high concentration of low density

esophagogastroduodenoscopy as well as CT scan or X-ray because bowel disturbance occurs in
case of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, constipation. An assessment of asymmetrical face
can be diagnosed by clinical examination, occlusal splints, comprehensive radiographic survey
as well as laboratory test. The assessment is done in case the asymmetrical face is caused due to
hemifacial microsomia, smoking, injury as well as due to injury. For the assessment of
uncoordinated neck movement blood test, urine test, magnetic resonance imaging scan was done
because it can be may be occur due to high consumption of alcohol, lithium, sedative as well as
cocaine and heroin (He and et.al., 2019).
For management for these symptoms includes some therapies as physical therapy can
strengthen body as well as enhancing the body mobility in case of uncoordinated movement.
Occupational therapy improve the skills in doing daily activity. For management of facial
asymmetrical a soft filler insertion is done in the face via injection. For management of bowel
movement some antidiarrhoeal drugs are given like senna, increasing fibre intake in diet,
drinking plenty of water, limit caffeine intake as well as including exercise in daily routine.

In case of Mrs. Carmela Mifsud some nursing plan is made according to her health condition as
well as due to her social history as rehabilitation centre is suggested for her because of heavy
smoking or drinking habit she is facing cerebrovascular accident. For management of her
condition rehabilitation is necessary (Nadar and et.al., 2020).

Geriatric services is a care provided to the elderly people in order to promote the health
condition of the old age people by preventing or treating the disease as well as disabilities. In
case of Mrs. Carmella Mifsud, she get the benefits of geriatric services like geriatric
Rehabilitation because Mrs. Carmella is 63 year old lady and had a habit of regular smoking as
well as habit of consumption of alcohol on regular basis (Goh and et.al., 2020).
Geriatric Rehabilitation is refer to an multidimensional dimensional approach for
diagnostic as well as for therapeutic intervention. The main purpose of geriatric rehabilitation is
to optimizing the functional capacity of an individual, promoting the growth activity of an
individual as well as preserving the functionality of an individual among with social participation
of older age people. The patient included to GR are older age people after having surgery,
chronic organ failure as well as older person after a stroke. The rehabilitation mainly emphasize
on the functional activity in order to maintain the functional mobility as well as capability. It also
emphasize on improving the balance through exercise, good nutrition, good balanced diet as well
as good general care. The centre also provide social as well as emotional support to the older age
people. The rehabilitation is focus to improve or augment the natural mechanisms of recovery in
case of Mrs. Carmella Mifsud. As in case of cerebrovascular accident the immediate mechanisms
of repairs was started which include post stroke edema as well as various other function (Osaki
and et.al., 2020).

Have responsibilities to understand the patient health issues such as acute or chronic issue
have responsibilities to organise as well as provide the medicine to the patient on a
specified time.
Provide the education to patient as well as their family member about the prevention and
safety condition of the disease.
Organise the meditation in daily routine in order to provide mental piece to the patient.
Involving in regular activities of the patient- as doing all activities of patient such as
cleaning, changing, dressing, feeding and many more can help the patient as well as
reduce the workload on the family member of the patient.
Have role to keep on eye to the patient so that she cannot consume alcohol as well as
smoking (More and et.al., 2018).
CONCLUSION
From the above case study, it is concluded that the cerebrovascular accident is a
condition in which the brain blood vessels broken down and cause blood clotting within the
brain. This is a disease from which the Mrs. Mifsud is experience. The given case study
concluded that geriatric rehabilitation services is provided to Mrs. Mifsud because she is older as
well as a habit of consumption of alcohol as well as smoking.
