INTRODUCTION
Cerebrovascular chiefly details about the flowing of blood into the brain. This term is
comprises of cerebrovascular disease which mainly involves the diseases such as disorders in
which the region or part of brain is temporarily or permanently impacted by ischaemia or
bleeding. Here, one or more of the cerebral blood vessels are comprised with processes of
pathology. Cardiovascular accidents are caused by blood clots and breaking of vessels of blood
in the brain. This cover will comprise the effective assessment of the patient Carmela Mifsud
who is 63 year old woman and has presented to the hospital with a complaint of cerebral vascular
accident. This cover will evaluate and discuss the geriatric services that will aid the condition of
Mifsud (Clare, 2018). And this will also comprise the nurse talking care of the physical and
mental burdens of the patient and the relatives.

Nursing plan in the case of Carmela Mifsud who is a 63 year old woman and has been
brought to A&E department with daughter as Mifsud was feeling a sudden weakness with the
left side of the body parts upon waking which lead to Mifsud fall on the sofa that was beside
Mifsud. This weakness was related with the aspersion of speech and there was no
unconsciousness, also there were no vomiting and raised body temperature. But the daughter
informed about the consumption of alcohol that her mother drank occasionally and smoking
habit of cigarettes to the very doctor. The daughter also informed about not taking efficient sleep
as her mother was worried about the household work and this was the main reason why her
mother Mifsud did not take proper sleep. Here the nurse can majorly play the role by educating
Mifsud about the essential nutrient that are contained with fresh fruits and vegetables and that
would aid in the process of treatment of mother's bad habits of skipping meals and will also
detoxify the boy due to smoking and consumption of alcohol (Connolly and Mahoney, 2018).
Nurse can efficiently take care of the needs of the patient by efficiently looking into the matter
and providing an effective diet chart that should be mandatorily be followed by Mifsud. Mifsud
had complaints about having bowel movements and as the lady barely ate fresh fruits and
vegetables and the lady also had difficulty showing expressions due to pain that is accompanied
with paling and weaknesses within the body. The nurse can effectively monitor the tests related

with vital signs of the patient and evaluate oxygen saturation, blood pressure timely and on
regular basis. In addition, regular body temperature should be checked, blood glucose level
should be maintained by performing a bedside dysphagia screening. Promotion of physical
exercises and healthy eating should be maintained and regularly monitored by the nurse.
Medical adherence must be followed and abided by efficiently to aid the difficulties within the
patient. Proper evaluation, diagnosis and implementation of patient care can majorly affect the
treatment of the patient Mifsud.

psychological care associated with other needed services such as home care services, assistances

other family members and nurses can better apply certain strategies and healthcare measures to
aid the situation of Mifsud (Kroll and et. al., 2020). Other healthcare and health challenges can
be aided with mental well-being and self actualisation so that the patient feels safe within the
premise and protected among the individuals. Healthy well-being of elderly people should be
taken care of the basic needs by the nurse to provide an extra care and safety to Mifsud. Mifsud
due to age factor requires complex care and medication routines that is required after the
diagnosis of cerebral vascular accident and related injuries. Mifsud can be given a mild and soft
dietary plans so that it can intervene the issuances related with bowel movements. Eyes were
normal but had difficulty in vision and this can be intervened with healthy diet and regular and
normal physical exercises. Uncoordinated neck movements as well as discomfort that is
associated with Mifsud can be treatment. In the community, the lady will be provided with
efficient and effective patient care to aid the difficulty with Mifsud. Geriatric assessment will
encompass relevant information about the health status and function of an elderly person like
Mifsud. Physical needs and aids that an elderly person requires is highly maintaining their diets
and nutritional requirements of the day. By taking care of bowels that would accompany with not

elderly people. Adequate sleep is necessary for Mifsud to aid the health concern and sound

al., 2018). By encouraging the patient for regular physical exercises the process of intervention
can be fostered. And by keeping the records of the side effects that is associated with the patient,
the nursing process of intervention of the difficulties can be intervened. When Mifsud can follow
and maintains the habits of regular exercise, both physical and mental peace can be fostered
effectively. Physiological monitoring and through maintenance of homeostasis, the process of
holistic patient care can be availed and fostered to provide a sound life to Mifsud. Nurses can
efficiently assess the process of mental status evaluation and also monitor the level of
consciousness within the patient. Nurses can play a key role in management of urinary and
gastrointestinal monitoring of complications that are associated with the post stroke carries
within the patient. Communication care can be effective in the case of Mifsud. Neurological
assessments and checking for complications should be the priority of the nurse in the case of
Mifsud to aid the situation of post CVA side effects (Morales and et. al., 2022). Nurses should
focus mainly on the survival needs of the patient and further complications associated with the
patient's difficulties to foster health.
