Introduction
Mental illness is a disorder that can influence an individual's thinking, attitude, and behavior.
It includes anxiety, disorders, eating disorders, depression, and addictive behavior. The
symptoms of mental illness are feeling down and extreme changes in behavior. The young
generation of Australia had been targeted by the organization as almost half of the adults
suffer from mental illness at some point in time in their life. The most common is depression
and around 15% of adults are affected by it. Consumption of drugs and alcohols are the
primary reason for medical illness in youths (Espejo, 2012). Certain drugs like marijuana and
amphetamines can become the reason for paranoia. There are some other factors for medical
illness such as genetic factor, biological factors, early life environment, trauma and stress,
and personality factors.
Activity-based approaches and education
The organization has implemented a health promotion program in which the activity-based
approaches and education can be combined in order to achieve weight loss among indigenous
people. Education alone cannot assist to achieve health behavior and substantive lifestyle
change. Wellness education programs have resulted in no substantive or very modest fitness
outcomes or weight loss. The organizations have implemented the program in order to guide
the indigenous people of how they will carry out physical exercise and weight management
activities to enhance their mental health. The participants were being motivated to develop
positive and appropriate health habits. Education is necessary but it consists of only
theoretical applications. The activity-based approaches assist to apply practical activities in
order to involve people for improving their mental health status (Paperny, 2011). The
organizations have also provided an area where people can do physical exercise and weight
management activities. The indigenous people suffer due to the lack of adequate resources

and knowledge. Thus, the organization have taken initiative to create awareness among
people and provided them the opportunity to keep a balance in their daily life.
Nutrition education
The organization has implemented a health promotion program which incorporated both
exercise and nutrition education. The programs encouraged indigenous people to adopt
healthy eating habits and decrease their weight. Awareness and education were provided to
the people about the importance of nutrients and maintaining a daily routine of eating nutrient
foods. Both active weight management and nutrient education can help to achieve positive
health results. Eating unhealthy foods is not good because it imposes a significant impact on
the mental health status of human beings. The organization has focused on supporting and
promoting both education and physical activities. The organization carried out many
campaigns and employed volunteers for creating awareness among the indigenous people
about the significance of eating foods with nutrient value (Levin, Hennessy & Petrila, 2010).
Behavior change and lifestyle program
The organization has implemented a health program in which the indigenous people were
being directed about how they can live their lives in an appropriate manner. The people were
being encouraged to do meditation in order to boost their energy level. If an individual is
physically fit then his or her mental status is also considered to be good. It means a person
has to be physically and mentally fit in order to live a healthy life (Sharma, Atri & Branscum,
2013). The organization has also focused on measuring and monitoring lifestyle behavior,
weight outcomes, and physical fitness. The measurement allows the company to determine
and evaluate health improvement among people. The organization also employed a healthcare
professional who is responsible for examining the lifestyle and behavioral change among
indigenous people. It is being directed that physical activities can assist to improve health
conditions and behavior of an individual.

Ethical issues
Privacy is one of the potential issues as digital media and social networking sites have been
used for health promotions. Social networking sites are never been secured and it is easy to
get access to someone's personal information. The organizations are using people's health
information to promote their business and posting an advertisement in social media about
their medical condition. In physical promotions, doctors communicate with individuals and
take note of their personal information like name, age, contact details, and health-related
issues. These documents are often being misplaced by the organization which might become
an issue for the individual (Vandiver, 2009).
Health promotion is about providing information regarding a particular disease. The
organization needs to provide correct information to the people as providing any incorrect
information could be dangerous for them. The second potential ethical issue is providing with
wrong information. For an example suggesting with something which is immoral and risky
can lead to stigmatization and discrimination. It is important for organizations to choose some
experience and knowledgeable doctors to conduct the promotion. If trainees are conducting
the promotion then it is the responsibility of an organization to assign a senior doctor with
them so that the trainees can be guided. A doctor can also monitor if any incorrect
information is being provided the trainees during the promotion (Weist & McDaniel, 2013).
Conclusion
It is being found that almost 45% of adults are suffering from medical illness and the
organizations are conducting health promotion programs to make them aware with the
treatment and how to minimize stress and depression in daily life. Though, some ethical
issues have been found during health promotions such as issues related to privacy and

providing correct information about the illness. Organizations have implemented the program
that consisted of guiding the indigenous people in physical exercise and weight management
activities in order to enhance their mental health. The organization has also provided a small
area where people can do physical exercise and weight management activities.
