INTRODUCTION
Academic skills can be defined as the abilities that the student uses by applying time
management tools, study habits etc. which helps the students to become more effective in their
studies. These skills facilitates the teachers as will in the schools or the universities to teach the
lessons to the students in a effective manner (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). On the other hand,
employability skills can be defined as the qualities of the employee in the organisation that
allows them to work well and effectively co-ordinate with others in the workplace. This type of
skills involves various qualities like communication, team work, ethics etc. which allows the
employees to give their important contribution in order to achieve the target of the organisation.
In this report, there will be the discussion on the various skills and the that helps the individual to
achieve the goal of academics. Gibbs reflective cycle will be analysed in relation to the various
topics like time management, academic writing, organising study, paraphrasing etc.

Gibbs reflective cycle in relation to the time management
This model can be defined as the framework or the management tools that helps the
individual to analyse the different experience they have faced in the various situations. This
model provides a critical thinking of an individual's own practices. This facilitates the students to
become more effective and efficient towards the study in the schools or the universities. Gibbs
reflective in relation to the time management are as follows:
Description: when I was in my college, I lack in some factors and the one of the main
issue that I have faced in my academics is that time management (Aliu and Aigbavboa,
2019). At the time of exams I faced so many difficulty in order to give enough time to
each subjects. For that purpose, I make an effective plan for my studies in order to
achieve my academics goal.
Feelings: At that time I was very nervous because I was first not able to manage my time
and the work that I got in my college. But after the managing the time effectively, I
realised that I have developed the time management skills which will help me in
achieving the future goals.

Evaluation: From that situation, I have analysed that time management is one of the
most important skills that everybody should posses. It helps me in achieving my
academics goals and also developed the time management skills. But I was not able to
communicate effectively with the others. When I was used to got the team projects I was
not able to complete the task on time because of communicate problem.
Analysis: In that situation I have to manage the time for my studies. Time management
skills helped me a lot in making the effective time table through which I become able to
carry out my studies at the time of exams (Griffiths and et.al., 2018). This skills helps me
to achieve my academics goals and I also become able to score good marks in my
examinations.
Conclusion: Time management skills are very important for everyone and it can be
applied in any situations that helps the individual to complete the task on time. If in
future I faced this type of problem I will definitely make an effectively time table in order
to achieve the target. It will help me to remind about all the activities that I have to do for
a particular task. This type of problem needs a effective time management skills which
helps in distributing the time according to the requirement of the subjects.
Action plan: If I will face this kind of problem in the future, I will tackle it by making
effective plan and schedule that will help me complete the task on time and also to carry
out all the activities (Sharifi and et.al., 2019). I will analyse my past experience that what
I have learned in my academics and will apply the same techniques that helps me to
effectively managing the time.
Gibbs reflective cycle in relation to the Academic writing
Description: When I was in my college, I got a team project in that we have to write
about a certain topic. We were a team of five members and we were assigned a topic that
was related to the management. This project was to be presented within the one month
and each team members were given certain part of the project. At that time I make a
report on the topic management skills.
Feelings: In the initial stage of the project, I was very excited because for the first time I
got the project in a team. But at the same time I was feeling nervous because that project
have to completed on the deadline. Each member of the team were excited about the

project as they all were doing academic writing for the first time . From that project I was
able to enhance my academic writing skills.
Evaluation: When we got the team project, everything was going well but after some
time leader of the team fails to lead the team actions (Nisha and Rajasekaran, 2018). Few
team members fought with each other that delays the project. But in order to solve that all
team members effectively give their contribution in order to complete the project on time.
Analysis: I have analysed from that team project that good vocabulary is required to do
the academic writing. I learned how to execute the projects in a team and this helps me a
lot in building my writing skills. All the team members enhanced their communication
skills as we got the team project and each one have to be co-ordinate with each other
effectively.
Conclusion: I have analysed that this project has build my effective writing skills that
will help in the future to do the difficult projects in a effective manner. I have also
learned new vocabulary words from that project that enhance my English spoken. If I
would given the team project in the future I will lead the team as leader through which I
will focus on that team members should work effectively without fighting with each
other.
Action plan: From that project, I have learned how to do the academic writing and I have
also enhanced my vocabulary (Aliu, Aigbavboa and Thwala, 2021). If in future, I got this
type of projects again I will use of the proper vocabulary words that will help me in
getting good grades in the future. At that time of the college I was not able to do the
project with the facts but if in future I will got the project I will read the published articles
on the academic writing.
Gibbs reflective cycle in relation to organising study
Description: when I was studying in my college in the past I used to do various courses
with my academic study. I need to manage my studies at that time because it was very
difficult for me to do the various courses at a same time.
Feelings: In the college time when I was doing my graduation and with that I started to
do the diploma course. At first it was looking very challenging for me to do the extra
course with my academics (Kamaliah and et.al, 2018). I was thinking doing extra course

will affects my academic study but I was able to organised my studies in a effective
manner.
Evaluation: At that time when I was in my college I got to the certificate of diploma
with my academic study that helps me at that time to gain extra knowledge. It helps me
to capitalise on various opportunities and through this I had choose an effective career
path for myself. Overall it was a great experience for me because at a one time I was
become able to get the knowledge of various courses.
Analysis: From that situations I have analysed that I enhanced my learning skills. I was
able to manage my studies effectively that helps me to do the other courses with my
academic study (Stewart, 2021). At that time used to make an effective study plan
through which I can give my enough time to my academics as well as extra courses.
Conclusion: From that situation I have learned that how to manage and organise the
study in a effective manner. I have learned new skills that how to tackle the various work
at a same time. If in future I stuck into this type of situations I will effectively organise
the work and I will give the priority to that one which is more important.
Action plan: I have developed the skills that if I got the different tasks at one time I am
able to do carry out all the task with the effectiveness. If I got into this type of situation I
will effectively organise my study so that I can put more focus on that part which is more
important.
Gibbs reflective cycle in relation to paraphrasing
Description: At the time of college, I was given hard and tough topics on which I have to
make reports. I used to make the reports by using reference of the google and the articles
that are present online (Wrye, Chafin and Higginbotham, 2019). From that situation I
have enhanced my learning skills English skills.
Feelings: During the project I was feeling that It was very challenging for me to do the
hard files. I had done several projects with the helps of the articles that are present online.
I have learned that how to rephrase the sentences in a effective manner. It has developed
my English skills and writing skills.
Evaluation: In the initial stage when I was getting so many files, it was very challenging
for me to do the reports on various topics. I managed at that time to complete the files

and the reports with the help of google. It was a great experience as I have gained the
knowledge that how to do paraphrasing effectively.
Analysis: From that situation I have analysed that paraphrasing helps me a lot in doing
my tasks and the reports on hard topics. I used to do so many files by doing paraphrasing
that helps me in completing of the reports on time.
Conclusion: I have concluded from above situation that how to do the hard and
challenging files with the helps of paraphrasing. I have learned various skills like I have
enhanced my English skills and writing skills (Evans and Kerridge, 2021). If I will face
this type of situation again I will effectively use the paraphrasing to complete the task.
Action plan: If in future I will get the hard files, I will effectively uses the paraphrasing
in which helps in completing the task on time. I have enhanced my English and writing
skills which helps me to do the reports easily even in the future.

CONCLUSION
Form the above report it can be analysed that effective academic skills plays an important
