INTRODUCTION
Teamwork is defined as the collaborative working of group in which each team members
put similar efforts with the objective of accomplishing common goals and objectives in efficient
and effective manner. Each team member plays important role in as well as contribute to group
dynamics that enhances their personal capabilities and performance. This report is related to
specific scenario that occurred during working in group in academic assignment. This report
covers reflective model such as Gibbs model that includes various aspects such as strengths and
weaknesses in relation to teamwork skill. Along with that roles of team members in group and
how it shapes the functioning and outcome of group.
TASK
I have assigned an assignment or project work on the topic my academic subjects. This project is
allotted to me along with four other members. I have allotted as a team leader so I have taken
responsibility of completing the assignment on time (Importance of teamwork, 2022). There are
various problem or critical situations are raised during the assignment that impact on overall
performance and efficiency of teamwork. This project enhances various personal attributes and
skills that help to attain personal as well as professional goals in best possible manner.
Gibbs reflective model: Gibbs reflective model is the self-reflection and management tool that
enable an individual to think clearly and in systematic manner about different experiences from
that they have gone through during specific activity or specific situation. Through using this
model an individual can express their learning and experience (Achuthan, Francis, and Diwakar,
2017). It leads me in through six stages that are related to exploring an experience such as
description, feeling, evaluations, analysis, conclusion and actions plan. All phrases of reflective
model are mentioned below:
Description: In my collage, an assignment related to academic topic such as importance of
teamwork is allocated to me along with four members. I took initiative is teamwork through
introducing myself to others and trying to understand other team member’s attitude and
behaviour (Gibbs reflective model, 2022). I have assigned as a team leader in group because I
have leadership and management skills so I can handle all critical situations in effective manner
that occur during the project as well as lead efforts of other group members on right direction.
We have conducted a meeting or group discussion in which we all decided our role in teamwork

members such as one member collect data, another one organising work and other members
performing other work (Beavers, Orange, and Kirkwood, 2017). Allocation of all roles among
team members help to perform defined operations and activities in best possible manner with
responsibility that enable us to accomplish project work on time with greater efficiency and
effectiveness. As in group, we all have understanding regarding work for which we are
responsible that shape our functions accordingly to get desirable outcomes.
During the meeting we have not decided the writing style of the project so each team member
complete their part of assignment in different language that create problem because we need to
rewrite the project again for make it coherent piece of work (Determine the strengths and
weaknesses of a team, 2022). We have to cancelled our evening plans and involved in
completing assignment with efficiency.
Feeling: In the starting of teamwork, I was felling happy and excited because I lead the team and
allotted all roles and responsibility among members in proper manner. I perform my operations
with efficiency and also ensure that other team members perform their activities appropriate
manner to complete assignment work before deadline. At the time of sum-up all assignments, we
have realised our mistake that all team members prepared their piece of work in different writing
style. That time, I got quite frustrated and concerned that we can complete assignment on time or
not. As a team leader, I motivated team members to rewrite assignment again with more
efficiency (Daniëls, Hondeghem, and Heystek, 2020). In this situation all team members put
their best and coordinate their actions to complete project properly. At last, I felt satisfied
because we put our best to complete project on time.
Evaluation: Evaluation helps me to analyse what we have done in and what have worked or not
in that situation. I have concentrated on both positive as well as negative aspects either they are
primary or secondary. There are various things that went well during the assignment such as each
group member perform with efficiency to produced good quality work that enable us to complete
assignment on time. Two members of group cancelled their personal plans that enhance our

member’s strengths and weaknesses and developing team effective and delegate work among
people accordingly.
I have analysed that, there are various skills and competencies are developed in team members
related to team work and other. I have been analysed that, this team work assignment improved
various team work skill in my personality that became my strength such as collaborating skill,
strong work ethics, willingness to mentor others, organising and planning, adoptability, problem
solving and analytical skills, leadership and delegation skills that helped me to manage team
properly and resolve team member’s problem that lead whole team efforts towards
accomplishing common goals in best possible manner (Strengths and weakness, 2021). On the
other hand, some weaknesses related to teamwork such as ineffective decision-making, in
effective communication, lake of coordination and other that impact on overall team work as
well as create hurdle in performing operation with effectiveness (Hedberg, 2017). I have
assessed out mistakes in teamwork and analyse how we handle the situation to gain higher
outputs on time.

goals on time.
